DIRECTOR DEALINGS: Atlas Mara Sextet Continue Share Purchases

Mon, 30th Nov 2015 09:38

LONDON (Alliance News) - Atlas Mara Ltd on Monday said its directors, including founders Robert Diamond and Ashish Thakkar, have continued to buy shares in the African bank investor.

Six of the company's directors and managers bought a total of 10,000 shares at USD5.70 each on Friday last week. The same sextet bought 20,000 shares at USD5.65 each on Wednesday and Thursday last week, following the purchase of 30,000 shares at USD5.50 each early in November.

Atlas Mara's managers and founders have been buying shares on the open market after pledging to do so back on October 29, when the company said it swung to profit in the nine months ended September 30 and launched a USD10.0 million share buyback programme.

Diamond bought 2,410 shares, while Thakkar bought 1,340. Chief Executive John Vitalo bought 1,930 shares.

Chief Financial Officer Arina McDonald, General Counsel Beatrice Hamza Bassey and Executive Committee Member Bradford Gibbs each bought 1,440 shares.

Shares in Atlas Mara were untraded at USD5.725 on Monday morning.
