Torotrak Gets Good Results From V-Charge Supercharger Tests

Tue, 17th May 2016 08:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - Torotrak PLC on Tuesday said it has secured positive results from tests carried out on its V-Charge supercharger by the University of Bath.

Torotrak, which makes emissions reduction and fuel efficiency technology for vehicles, said the key performance targets in the tests were met or exceeded. V-Charge outperformed other advanced boosting systems in the tests and its twin-stage boosting configuration met the target torque requirements to allow significant engine downsizing.

Further tests on the system are being completed, and Torotrak is continuing to progress towards demonstrating the V-Charge systems in a Ford Focus car from summer 2016 onward.

"We are very excited about the results achieved from the independent Bath study. The achievement of this major milestone confirms the significant advantages of our V-Charge boosting product and the contribution that the technology can make to the delivery by OEM's of the post 2020-21 emissions targets with cars that customers want to buy," said Torotrak Chief Executive Adam Robson.

Torotrak shares were up 9.3% to 4.71 pence Tuesday.
