(Alliance News) - Tharisa PLC on Thursday said its third quarter production climbed, with exploration & mining firm also reporting an "exceptionally strong" showing in May and June.
Tharisa reported that chrome production in the three months to June 30 climbed 3.6% quarter-on-quarter to 321,400 tonnes. Platinum group metals output surged 9.0% quarter-on-quarter to 35,000 tonnes.
"PGM sales and deliveries have returned to pre Covid-19 levels," Tharisa added.
The company also reported "record" run of mine output levels in May and June.
"Operating results for the quarter have been exceptionally strong with both May and June achieving consecutive record ROM output levels. These efforts, together with a very credible performance from the processing team has ensured our quarter-on-quarter production levels for both PGMs and chrome concentrates have shown increases at a time when we were not operating at full capacity," Tharisa said.
The company has recorded nine positive cases of Covid-19 and one death from the virus.
