LONDON (Alliance News) - SolGold PLC on Friday said it has received assay results from Hole 11 at the Alpala prospect within the Cascabel copper-gold project in Ecuador.
The assay results included a high-grade zone of 58 metres at 1.45% copper and 1.44 grams per tonne of gold. The full 740 metre assay intersection has 0.24% copper and 0.16 grams per tonne of gold.
The current depth of the hole is at 1,380 metres of a planned 1,600 metres, and SoldGold said the vein intensity and visible copper mineralisation was increasing with depth.
SolGold said a second rig has been mobilised to the site and will be commissioned and operational by the end of July.
Shares in SolGold were up 2.7% to 2.8487 pence on Friday.
