IN BRIEF: Petra Diamonds Notes Williamson Alleged Human Rights Abuses

Petra Diamonds Ltd - majority owner of Williamson diamond mine in Tanzania - Notes a report published on Thursday by NGO RAID identifying "number of alleged human rights abuses relating to the security operations of the Williamson mine". Williamson is 75% owned by Petra, 25% owned by government of Tanzania. "Petra takes these allegations extremely seriously and has been engaging and cooperating with RAID since being made aware of the allegations on 29 August 2020," Petra says. Petra "working hard" to address allegations and creates sub-committee of non-executive directors to oversee the matter.

Petra Diamonds Ltd - London-based diamond mining company focused on South Africa and Tanzania - On Monday, sells 735,222 carats for USD140.6 million in its fourth tender of its 2022 financial year ending June 30. IN BRIEF: Petra Diamonds sets out three-year production guidance

Petra Diamonds Ltd - diamond miner in South Africa and Tanzania - Pretax profit falls by a third to USD62.7 million in the financial half year that ended December 31 from USD90.7 million a year before. Revenue of USD264.7 million, up 49% from USD178.1 million, was in line with a trading update provided by Petra back in January. Operating costs rose in line with revenue, but Petra booked lower financial income and higher financial expense and also suffered negative currency movement. The company declared no interim dividend, the same as a year before.
