(Alliance News) - N4 Pharma PLC on Thursday announced that cancer drug Nuvec can be freeze dried and stored for 14 day without a significant drop in performance.
N4 Pharma shares were up 56% at 9.37 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
N4 Pharma is a Chellaston, England-based pharmaceutical company focused on the development of Nuvec, a novel delivery system for cancer treatments and vaccines.
N4 Pharma said Nuvec formulations which had been freeze dried and then stored for 14 days, either at room temperature or at four degrees celsius, showed no significant drop in in vitro transfection capability following its reconstitution.
Chief Executive Nigel Theobald said: "Demonstrating that Nuvec loaded with a plasmid DNA can be dried, stored at convenient temperatures and reconstituted without any drop in transfection is a significant step forward in our formulation development work."
Going forward, different formulations will be chosen for phase two of the work programme which will test the efficacy of the dried and reconstituted plasmid DNA in an in vivo antibody generation model.
