LONDON (Alliance News) - Monitise PLC and Isbank have integrated Apple Inc's Touch ID fingerprint authentication into IsCep, the Turkish private bank's mobile banking application, according to a joint statement published on Monday.
According to the statement, the development removes the need to type in a PIN code, enabling a quick and easy login without compromising security. Instead, users can swipe their fingerprints to log in. This is verified by comparing it to the fingerprint stored securely on the device.
Isbank is the first bank in Turkey to use fingerprint authentication for mobile, the statement said.
Monitise designed and developed IsCep, which has over 1.2 million users
Monitise shares were Monday quoted up 1.5% at 30.70 pence.
