Mkango Resources Ltd - Vancouver-based explorer for rare earth elements - Completes project to recycle rare earth magnets from loudspeakers in vehicles and flat screen TVs, led by HyProMag Ltd, European Metal Recycling Ltd and University of Birmingham, funded via a grant from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, delivered by UK Research and Innovation.
Says project results show new sustainable and low energy impact feedstock can be commercially manufactured from rare earth magnets for the UK supply chain, plus scale up opportunity.
Mkango adds its investee MyProMag has "significant opportunity to unlock the supply chain for recycling of rare earth magnets from a diverse range of sources, including electric vehicles, wind turbines and electronic devices".
