LONDON (Alliance News) - Keras Resources PLC on Wednesday said it has started moving processed ore from its 10,000 tonne metallurgical testwork programme at the Nayega manganese project in northern Togo.
The mining company said trucked ore is now being stockpiled at at secure site adjacent to the deep-water port of Lome, ahead of being transferred to the bulk material wharf when shipping starts in late February.
Keras achieved a steady-state production level of 230 saleable tonnes per day at the project, with work proceeding on a 24-7 basis.
"I am delighted to announce the trucking of processed ore at Nayega began at the weekend, with peak haulage of 12 trucks or 420 tonnes per day expected by January 31," Chief Executive Russell Lamming said.
Keras shares were up 2.4% at 0.38 pence each on Wednesday at midday.
