Keras Resources makes 'constructive' progress in Togo

Fri, 25th Sep 2020 11:55

(Sharecast News) - Mineral resource company Keras Resources announced on Friday that a number of "constructive meetings" had been conducted in Togo.
The AIM-traded firm said that in particular, chief executive officer Russell Lamming had met with Togolese prime minister Komi Selom Klassou and the minister of mines and energy Marc Ably-Bidamon, in order to discuss the near-term development path to begin production through the issue of an exploitation permit at the Nayéga Manganese Project.

It currently holds an 85% interest in the project.

Additionally, chief operating officer Graham Stacey was currently on-site at Nayega, where he was ensuring that the bulk-sample plant, with installed capacity to produce 6,500 tonnes per month of beneficiated manganese, was production-ready.

In addition, it said Stacey was siting water boreholes for the additional water required when the company commissions the new plant to expand production to 25,000 tonnes per month.

"Exploration activities are ongoing at the Ogaro prospect, located five kilometres east-southeast of the main Nayega deposit and four kilometres south of the previously-explored T27 deposit," the board said in its statement.

"In order to maintain the momentum in Lomé and at Nayega, the management has determined to remain in Togo for a further week beyond the planned return date."

At 1145 BST, shares in Keras Resources were up 7.69% at 0.14p.
