Tate & Lyle chairman tops up stake with another 10,000 shares

Thu, 31st Jul 2014 16:38

The chairman of FTSE 250-listed Tate & Lyle, Peter Gershon, added £63,800-worth of shares in the sugar and sweeteners group. Gershon, who is also the chairman of National Grid, paid 638p for each of the 10,000 shares, taking his holding to 92,080 shares. The purchase comes about a week after the company admitted its operating profit for the first quarter had come in below expectations as the group continued to suffer the effects of the severe US winter, the temporary closure of its Splenda Sucralose facility in Singapore and the strength of sterling. On a constant currency basis, the year as a whole is still expected to be in line with previous expectations, although the performance of its Speciality Food Ingredients division is predicted to be slightly lower than previously anticipated following its first quarter performance. The group said the division had been affected more than had been expected by the lower inventory levels caused by the prolonged and severe US winter.Top Director BuysTate & Lyle (TATE) Director name: Sir Peter GershonAmount purchased: 10,000 @ 638.00p Value: £63,800Royal Mail (RMG) Director name: Mr Paul MurrayAmount purchased: 12,304 @ 421.52p Value: £51,864Informa (INF) Director name: Mr Geoff CooperAmount purchased: 10,252 @ 487.69p Value: £49,998Securities Trust of Scotland (STS) Director name: Mr Angus Gordon Lennox Amount purchased: 20,000 @ 143.75p Value: £28,750Top Director SellsKCOM Group (KCOM) Director name: Mr Paul SimpsonAmount sold: 419,507 @ 95.12p Value: £399,035Trinity Mirror (TNI) Director name: Mr Vijay VaghelaAmount sold: 123,432 @ 199.00p Value: £245,630Bullabulling Gold Limited (DI) (BGL) Director name: Mr Brett LambertAmount sold: 2,859,756 @ 4.73p Value: £135,266Mulberry Group (MUL) Director name: Mr Roger T MatherAmount sold: 30,000 @ 735.00p Value: £220,500Trinity Mirror (TNI) Director name: Mr Paul VickersAmount sold: 80,733 @ 199.00p Value: £160,659Trinity Mirror (TNI) Director name: Mr Vijay VaghelaAmount sold: 80,231 @ 199.00p Value: £159,660Trinity Mirror (TNI) Director name: Mr Paul VickersAmount sold: 69,969 @ 199.00p Value: £139,238Bullabulling Gold Limited (DI) (BGL) Director name: Mr Peter John Mansell Amount sold: 1,073,043 @ 4.74p Value: £50,862Bullabulling Gold Limited (DI) (BGL) Director name: Mr Ronald Hugh BeevorAmount sold: 581,231 @ 4.74p Value: £27,550Jarvis Securities (JIM) Director name: Mr Jolyon Christopher Head Amount sold: 5,000 @ 525.00p Value: £26,250NR
