(Sharecast News) - Telecom tower infrastructure company Helios Towers has appointed chief financial officer Tom Greenwood to the newly-created role of chief operating officer.
Helios said on Wednesday that the creation of the role "reflects the ambitions of the company, the foundations of which have been enhanced not only by the successful IPO of the business in 2019, but also the refinancing and expansion of the company's debt facilities, both to fund organic and inorganic growth".
Greenwood joined Helios in 2010, became finance director in 2012 and was appointed as CFO in 2015. Helios said he has significant experience of the operating dynamics of the business.
The company has appointed an international search firm to begin the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of CFO, it said. Manjit Dhillon, head of Investor Relations and Corporate Finance, has been appointed as interim CFO.
Chief executive Kash Pandya: "Tom is an outstanding CFO and over the past five years, it has become clear to me that he is an exceptional operational leader. He knows every detail of the business and has been an important part of the team that has driven the performance of the business."

Airtel Africa and Helios progress on sale of company in Malawi
(Alliance News) - Airtel Africa PLC and Helios Towers PLC on Friday confirmed that the agreement relating to the potential sale of Airtel's passive infrastructure assets in Chad expired and would not be renewed but the sale of Airtel's passive infrastructure operating company in Malawi is progressing.
