LONDON (Dow Jones)--HSBC Holdings PLC has appointed Ben Katz, previously of Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers, to a dual role in its Americas financing arm. Katz will head up debt capital markets operations at HSBC's financial institutions group in the U.S., and will also be co-head of its financing solutions group for the Americas, the bank said in a release Tuesday. Katz will be responsible for debt origination for U.S. financial institutions and developing capital and liability solutions in the Americas. Prior to his role at Deutsche Bank, Katz worked for Lehman Brothes for 12 years. He also held positions at Merrill Lynch and Arthur Andersen.
