LONDON (Alliance News) - Henderson International Income Trust PLC Tuesday said its net asset value per share has gone up year-on-year, although the trust underperformed against its benchmark index.
Henderson International Income said its diluted NAV per share was 110.2 pence on August 31, up from 97.2 pence at the same point last year.
The trust's diluted NAV total return per ordinary share was 17.6% in the year to August 31, but its benchmark index, the MSCI World ex UK Index gave a total return of 22.0% in Sterling terms.
"The bias of the portfolio towards the US and Europe has helped it avoid the worst of the emerging market disruption, but it has not been immune and the company's returns have lagged the benchmark index in the second half of the year," the trust said in a statement.
The trust's shares Tuesday closed at 120.88 pence, up 0.4%.
