(Sharecast News) - Iron ore miner Ferrexpo said first quarter production rose slightly, reflecting the impact of ongoing pelletiser upgrade work on output.
The company on Thursday reported iron ore pellet production of 2.8m, up 2% year on year and 12% below the final quarter of 2020.
Production of high-quality pellets represented 100% of total output in the first quarter, up from 97%, it added.
Ferrexpo said upgrade work was completed on one pelletiser line in the first quarter of 2021 and further work was underway. It guided for a rise in pelletiser capacity 0.5m - 1m tonnes a year after completion of the upgrades.
