EMED Mining Public is one step closer to beginning site works at the Spain Rio Tinto copper project.In an operational update for the three months to Mach 31st, the company said it was on track for construction to begin in the second half of 2013 and initial production in 2014.The group is aiming for production of 37,000 tonnes per annum of copper in concentrate by the end of 2015. The Andalucía Government's Department of Industry has so far cleared the company's economic, technical and legal capacities.It is now progressing the permits required to commence site works in the third quarter of this year. The government wrote to advise that it intends to finalise Administrative Standing on receipt of a preliminary report from the national civil works technical review agency CEDEX and approval from the Department of Environment of the environmental plan."We are poised at a very delicate and exciting stage, working very closely with the authorities in Andalucía and making every effort to expedite the triggering of the project, to start works in the second half of 2013 and ramp-up base production by the end of 2015," said Managing Director Harry Anagnostaras-Adams.RD
