LONDON (Alliance News) - Curzon Energy PLC on Friday said it is to start work to remove bridge plugs at its Coos Bay project as it looks to achieve commercial gas production ahead of plan.
Work on removing the plugs at the Coos Bay coal methane project, in Oregon, will start next week. As previously announced, the work will give Curzon access to deeper productive coal seams that were previously isolated due to the bridge plugs' location.
Curzon is also undertake 335 feet of new perforations and the re-perforation of some existing wells to open all identified gas bearing coal seams. This, it believes, will shorten the time-frame to commercial gas production and increase over gas volume.
On top of this well work Curzon will perforate another 310 feet of gas bearing conventional reservoir sands to assess their productivity which may also accelerate gas production and increase future production.
Curzon said alongside this work it will continue the implementation of its water disposal system, negotiations on a gas sales contract, and a pipeline agreement for future gas sales.
Shares were up 0.5% on Friday at 9.30 pence each.
