(Alliance News) - Capital & Regional PLC on Thursday appointed 20-year veteran Katie Wadey as a non-executive director, effective October 20.
Capital & Regional is a London-based property REIT focused on retail and leisure properties.
Wadey is customer director at FTSE 100 insurer Aviva PLC, having 20 years experience working within customer engagement and commercial functions at telecommunications firm BT Group PLC, insurer LV=, grocer Tesco PLC, Centrica PLC's British Gas and lender Barclays PLC.
Capital & Regional Chair David Hunter said: "Katie has had an interesting career across a variety of consumer facing industries and has continually exhibited a genuine interest in how businesses in highly competitive environments can better serve and engage with their customers, with measurable results.
"Katie understands the needs and wants of the community, which is central to our strategy, and we look forward to leveraging her deep and broad expertise as we continue to navigate the changing retail landscape which has seen structural shifts accelerated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic."
Capital & Regional shares were down 1.6% at 37.00 each in London on Thursday afternoon. In Johannesburg, the company's shares were down 3.4% at ZAR7.80 each.
