HOUSTON, April 12 (Reuters) - A malfunction on Wednesday atBP Plc's 405,000 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting, Indianarefinery did not affect production at the refinery, sourcesfamiliar with refinery operations said on Thursday.
Energy industry intelligence service Genscape said therefinery was utilizing a flare related to a gasoline-producingfluidic catalytic cracking unit and several vapor recovery unitsat the refinery. The FCCU appeared to be operating normally.
Workers continue to perform an overhaul of the large crudedistillation unit at the refinery, according to the sources. Thework is scheduled for completion in the second quarter.
A BP spokesman declined to discuss operations at therefinery. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
