July 17 (Reuters) - A compressor failure caused flaring forabout 10 minutes at the BP Plc 405,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Whiting, Indiana,according to a report on the website of The Times of NorthwestIndiana.
The compressor was quickly restarted after it went offline,the report quoted a source as saying, adding there was noequipment damage or any impact on production.
The company was not immediately available for comment.
Energy intelligence firm Genscape reported significantelevated flaring at the refinery.
