Avon Rubber Says Good Trading Will Lead To Achieving Expectations

Fri, 29th Jan 2021 10:32

(Alliance News) - Avon Rubber PLC on Friday said trading has continued as expected since December with continued good order intake across its portfolio of life critical personal protection systems.

The Wiltshire, England-based respiratory protection equipment manufacturer said it has seen positive order momentum in the Military, First Responder and Team Wendy LLC businesses, with Netherlands becoming the fourth country to join the programme under the NATO Support & Procurement Agency contract.

Additionally, it has made progress with updated body armour designs for the US Defense Logistics Agency Enhanced Small Arms Protective Inserts and US Army Vital Torso Protection contracts.

"Following approval of the US Defense budget, we anticipate follow-on orders under our long-term US DOD contracts during the first half of the 2021 financial year and have good visibility of a wider pipeline of global opportunities," Avon Rubber added.

The company said it has continued to see strong demand across its entire respiratory protection range in its First Responder business, in part driven by the ongoing pandemic, as well as seeing a strong pipeline of opportunities to further broaden its customer base across both its respiratory and ballistic product portfolios.

It said Team Wendy has continued to perform well and in line with expectations in the first three months of ownership, forecasting revenue to grow in line with its investor proposition of 3% growth per annum in 2021 back in December.

As a result of this, Avon Rubber said it remains confident in achieving its expectations for the current financial year.

Shares in Avon Rubber were up 1.3% at 3,140.00 pence in London on Friday.
