LONDON (Alliance News) - Aberforth Geared Income Trust PLC Wednesday said it is weighing up its options as it is now in the penultimate year of its planned life.
The trust said it's "mindful" of its commitment to examine ways to give ordinary shareholders the option of continuing with their investment in the trust, while enabling holders of its zero dividend preference shares to realise theirs.
Aberforth Geared Interest Trust is discussing its options with investment manager Aberforth Partners LLP.
The trust's total return on net asset value of its ordinary shares was 19.6% in the year ended June 30, it said, and 6.75% on that of its ZDP shares.
Shares were up 2.0% at 202.25 pence on Wednesday morning. ZDPs were untraded.
Separately, Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust PLC, another investment trust managed by Aberforth Partners, said its net asset value total return was 15.3% in the six months ended June 30, beating the 11.8% of its benchmark, the Numis Smaller Companies Index (excluding Investment Companies).
Shares in Aberforth Smaller Companies were up 1.1% at 1,173.20p on Wednesday.
