LONDON (Alliance News) - Amerisur Resources PLC on Wednesday reported a small drop in oil output for September, while good progress is being made in its exploration work.
Production for September from its Platanillo and Mariposa-1 assets in Colombia was 149,226 barrels of oil.
Average daily output was 4,974 barrels, and peak daily production reached 5,025 barrels a day.
In August, production was 152,721 barrels of oil, with average daily production at 4,927 barrels a day and peak production at 5,295 barrels a day.
On the exploration front, Amerisur said the operator of its CPO-5 field in Colombia is currently preparing to drill the Indico-1 well, with spudding set for the latter part of October.
Indico-1 is targeting the same play as Amerisur's Mariposa-1 well, which it said produced its one millionth barrel of oil last week. Indico-1 has recoverable resources of 10.3 million barrels of oil.
The operator hopes to drill the Aguila-1 and Sol-1 wells after Indico-1.
Testing of the T sand at Pintadillo-1 is continuing, Amerisur added, and it hopes to finish re-mapping the discovery over the next four weeks before a decision on further drilling.
On Amerisur's Putumayo-12 and Putumayo-9 assets, it has processed seismic data at the Coendu prospect and is now finalising a first drilling location there.
Shares were 0.7% higher on Wednesday at a price of 11.78 pence each.
