Polar Capital Technology Trust Share Price (PCT)

I guess we can buy the idea that this might now be an easier buy for smaller ISA investment lots. It's also fallen quite well with better news from Nvydia and tech markets.

My take is that they invent in 7 main shares which are very fully valued and there’s no dividend to support this if the price starts to fall.. Makes it hard to invest here. Seems to me that the share split just allows the original investors out at a big profit, not sure where that leaves people joining now. But I’m probably wrong.

Looks as if the resolution to split was approved and becomes effective tomorrow.

Thanks for reply stuartrm, I agree any benefit post split likely to be marginal and medium term. I believe the large recent drop in the value of this trust is more down to some recent cyber security issues and concerns over A.I. legalities etc.The trust remains well positioned in terms cutting edge technology however, where these issues are bound to crop up periodically.

My guess, which is probably no better or worse than anyone else's is that the share split should benefit the share price, although I suspect any benefit will be marginal. Although comparison of any discount between the NAV and price of PCT shares pre and post split, relative to the discount of the shares prices to NAV figures of other similar funds, might give an indication of the size of any benefit, there could still be other factors at play and it will be difficult, if not impossible, to come to any firm conclusions either way. In any event, by then the split will have taken place and the answer will be largely academic.
