Leave emotions to one side is very difficult, especially when one convinces one left the BodD has been negligent, over-promised, failed to deliver or has not communicated properly. I don't care which Company we discuss; there will always be problems within the investment community; it's nature; we are dealing with people, and all of us are flawed, some more than others (except me; I'm an angel).

There were times when I was a raving lunatic if I was down 30%. I almost choked on one dummy for spitting it out.

This has been a disappointing perfoemance by the company board and results for the last 2 years. Any news on the update of these?

1. Acne study - results meant to be ready by end of March.. nearly 3 months later and nothing....

2. Croda deal (sigh)... after the positive video and update, this is meant to be commercialised by early summer... will this happen?

Bubsy, it wasn't aimed at you, it was a general comment about the "louder detractors.” Apologies if it came across that way.

You said when Croda lands you will get out, I suggested that I did not believe that would be smart. My point about emotion is that when someone says things like, "in the hope that they can recoup their losses" and you are going to do the same, what exactly is "their losses" or your losses, 20p, 30, 40p, 60p. You are anchoring your strategy to a value that the market doesn't care about, it is irrelevant, therefor it is the individuals emotional anchor. My point about selling now was based on the fact that you said you were out once you recoup your losses, that doesn't make sense to me.

Now I dont know what loss you sit on but I go back to the book, the worst thing you can do is sit on a loss past circa 30%, you have two options, you sell up and put it down to experience, or you buy more and bring your average down, to do nothing and hope is the worst option.

Toyin, Thanks for your comments although I must respectfully disagree.

My comments were not emotional, they are based on the facts of the managements performance to date that I believe to be lacking. I certainly do not rant and rave either and I have no idea why you say that.

I always try to view my investments strictly on a risk reward basis so will not be selling now as I believe the Croda deal will come through and that the current share price will increase significantly. If this pans out as I hope selling now, as you suggested, just does not make any sense at all.

Bazzaman, yes there are similarities, whilst the art of execution doesn’t state the number of different shares, it does suggest concentrating your efforts in a small pool. I agree, the problem with diversification is you end up being no better off than buying an index tracker. It’s certainly a very fascinating subject. I haven’t read Zurich in a longtime I shall revisit it.
