Looking back 2 years bottoms have been 103,113,118 so this could be regarded as an uptrend.
Main challenges are of course the debt, mobile competition and endless world issues affecting the overall market.
I still regard this is mainly a trading stock, although if you can get in at one of the bottoms like the current one it can be held as a dividend stock like a bond.
My personal annoyance is having an average breakeven price of around 130 and it keeps getting knocked back. Should have sold when it moved to 140ish.
Again looking at the chart, it suggests 130+ may be possible again - barring the impacts of the risks I listed.
Tempted to do a little top up maybe next week. Of course if I wait it'll probably go up in the meantime. I'm sure there's a bot that reads my comments and feeds into the sp accordingly.
Hello Mikey. Sorry if I may appear to pick on you, but why do you think we need you to tell us the blindingly obvious? We all have access to to the vod sp, so we know it goes up, & then it comes down, & vice versa, we can work it for ourselves. We don't need you constant running comments. But thank you anyway, on behalf of those who are to stupid to work it out for themselves.
@Robleo - Yeah I get you. Good luck to you too, bud.
Dividend day tomorrow so something to console yourself with.
Having sold these in two tranches a while back after XD day I shan't be buying back in just yet.
There's six months until the next dividend payout & a lot is going to happen in the interim winter period, much of it I hate to say will hurt financial markets. All IMO of course, buy I do have a soft spot for VOD so hopefully will get back in the future.
It won't be just a one share purchase though Mikey, ha! Good luck all & enjoy your dividends.
Had clawed its way back - now on its downwards trajectory :(
Mikey having a pop at a negative poster!! Unless he is just talking to himself? A positive Mikey? now that would be a turn up for the book.
I see that the moron & Porsche wannabe has reared his pathetic head again.
He is broke, lives in a dingy flat on a high street above a KFC, drives a 25 year old Lada & his only friend is a cat.
A pathetic individual Mikey.
King of the losers is our Porsche.
Funny that you only turn up when the price is going down - go back and play with your toys
Offmessage lol, totally get your point though, it's just the timing didn't go down to well, with the current inflation problems
Good luck mate
@Robleo - I confess there is a slight conflict of interest :-)
French Tycoon Seeks to Acquire Vodafone Ghana in All-Cash Deal
Telecel Group, headed by French tycoon Hugues Mulliez, said it’s in talks with Ghanaian authorities to get approvals for a deal to buy Vodafone Group Plc’s operations in the West African country in an all-cash deal.
The company said in a statement on Wednesday it’s signed a sales agreement with Vodafone for its operations in Ghana, as the British telecommunications giant looks to refocus on key markets. It hasn’t received approvals for the deal yet.

The tycoon, who’s a shareholder in the Association Familiale Mulliez -- owner of French retailers including Decathlon and Leroy Merlin -- will fund the acquisition with Telecel’s partners. The potential sale of Vodafone Ghana’s towers aren’t being considered as part of the the deal funding.
Telecel plans to spend about $500 million in the first three years to expand and refinance Vodafone’s network across the country.
Vodafone entered Ghana in 2008, when it paid the government $900 million for 70% of Ghana Telecommunications Co. The state retains a 30% holding in the business.
A lot of "money-men" reach the top spots, but do not understand how business actually works.
They just see numbers.
Understanding customers is probably a greater skill.
Managing costs is normally about head counts, esp in service/utility sector.

He was CFO for 4 years and also worked at Fedex for 10 years
The SP has been holding just below 120 for most of this year, with slightly higher lows.
The converse is also true with slightly lower highs so we are moving to one of those periods where a breakout is imminent. Unfortunaltely I can't work out which is most likely - a break up or down.
If we drop to the low 100s that is more attractive as an entry point but more painful for existing holders.
So I'll just keep watching for now, as like Robleo, I have limited funds.

Where was Read before this position with VOD or is he a VOD-lifer ?
Never looked into his past
Cheers - C
Yep back down we go Robleo - nothing new really - more than likely be back below £1.10 soon
I see Read was given an Honorary Degree earlier this week by Manchester University for his achievements in business .
Some of the comments are quite funny , asking what he has actually achieved with a picture of the share price .
Come on you lot, just trying to disstract everyones attention away from the dropping share price
csdi, I have spent the last year trying to restructure my portfolio, and taking advantage of topping up as these discounted prices is the only way i see of making the necessary improvements, not only are you improving your capital growth but also increasing the yields, but i only have limited new cash for doing so, pooling my dividends together for extra resources is also helping
would love to see you perhaps getting at least one more pot though, when possible just in case one should go down
But don't take my advise I wish i was better at this, just have to keep on trying
cheers
Offmessage, do i detect a conflict of interest there mate :-), totally get your argument about that though, it's just the timing of it that's not gone down well ?
Robina
My view with topping up is like Rob's.
If you can make your average cost lower per share - then that can't be a bad idea - that's if you think VOD is the best palce to put your money. If like me, you've only got one investment then little point in making separate tiny pots. I've a plan to top up my PSN shares next week as the current SP is about 11% lower than my average and 20% lower than my first purchase. Pound cost averaging.

"those big profit making oilers will have to pay a price for ripping us all off"
Urgh economic illiteracy. They've been making horrendous losses for years because oil has been so cheap, but yeah sure let's take all their profits away so they can't invest in increasing production and the tight supply issues that have driven up prices are compounded, that ought to work /s.
I think they already pay 65% on profits but then the govt adds VAT to an already surging price - like the mafia.
Not sure any shares are giving at the moment, at least the dividends are still flowing at the moment, strangely i am seeing a change in my portfolio lately, as my funds and investment trust have been gaining in value again, about time something really good happened for a change to bump up all the share prices, think those big profit making oilers will have to pay a price for ripping us all off
116 if I don't add.
112 if I do.
Vodafone - the share that keeps on taking...
