Cant see where that €122Bn comes from?
FY22 Total Assets €154Bn = Total Equity and Liabilities €154Bn
Market Cap c€25Bn
8.33% div to compensate for risk vs building society etc
That’s ok. Check out accumulated losses on the balance sheet. That is where divi payments get booked. Loss of 122bn and growing. Doesn’t seem sustainable to me.
sorry made small mistake with my maths
It’s over €2bn not million, and it’s not safe as they borrow to pay it. New ceo may can it and you have the danger of losing capital value.
no it costs 2400 million
why would the divi NOT BE SAFE it only costs vodafone £215 million per annum???
'Just a reminder the div is not safe if it comes with a corresponding decline in capital, the Sp.'
SP is back where it went ex div on 24 Nov....lets see when it goes cum div on Friday.
Germany economy will turnaround and VOD will ride up tracking GDP. UK doing really well and Africa a'resilient' hedge imo
Well we all know that this divi is safe, but what will it be in £'s 3.5p 0r 4p after conversion
“ Fell to my expected price thereabouts....I really don't know where we go from here but suppose we have a dividend which is safe...for the moment!!”
Just a reminder the div is not safe if it comes with a corresponding decline in capital, the Sp.
Investors should consider the safety of total returns, from any investment. Too much risk of greater declines here with Wunderkid Germany now shrinking.
Agree with slati...
Adding at or below this level and battling through till May will see a good return for the divi if nothing else
"BT tomorrow which will also be ****"
Slight exaggeration, BT's capex and cost saving strategy has been well telegraphed for a couple of years now. I'm invested in both BT and Vodafone, only slightly more in BT, but I have more confidence in BT's strategy and their direction of travel. Vodafone need to find a CEO as good as Jansen appears to be at BT.
It suits me for BT to drop, as that's where I'm currently targeting my dividend top-ups and only holding Vodafone. I have a lot of confidence that BT's bottom line will grow over the coming years, irrespective of small declines in revenue.
BT tomorrow which will also be ****, 85 or lower i'm back in. I will be a while before over £1
Bloomberg reports:
Organic service revenue grew 1.8%, meeting analyst estimates
Della Valle says plan is to become a ‘simpler business’
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-02-01/vodafone-revenue-meets-estimates-ceo-says-we-can-do-better
Should be enough to push this along. Free cashflow sufficient to pay FY div. Its a slog but holding..
If you've lost 80k...I would seriously reconsider "investing"....camouflaged as "Gambling"
Fell to my expected price thereabouts....I really don't know where we go from here but suppose we have a dividend which is safe...for the moment!!
Can't see how they can maintain dividend with Europe revenues falling. Spain is being destroyed. Italy too. Wonder if they will even get same bid for it as before.
So glad I dumped yesterday, good luck all. I'll buy back if they get to low 80s to try and get my loses back
Will be interesting to see the market reaction to these results. So far I’ve seen headlines ranging from ‘Vodafone beats revenue estimates’ ‘Vodafone results in line with broker estimates’ to ‘Vodafone revenues decline’
The truth is that revenues are still growing but at a slower rate and they are still targeting the same reduced FY results.
Steady as she goes as far as an update goes and I’ve seen similar updates/results push the SP in opposite directions!
70's
Sp goes up on profits increases.
See none here.
Interim CEO says We can do better, Says it all.
Shocking.
Wow Europe results are so bad. Germany, Spain and Italy are in freefall.
Thank god.. no downward revision to EBITDA and cash flow at £5.1 billion.. Not the way trading update expected...
but Should see share price rising at open!
Sorry but I think they are doing OK considering the trading conditions throughout Europe.
Year end target still looking ok with approx $15bn ebita and £5bn free cash. Could have been a lot worse.
POOR...... this BEHEMOTH needs to be properly broken up.......
