Jax think that plays to the market consolidation strategy which MDV translates into lower costs and fcf to pay a dividend. Think 3 UK deal is the bell weather deal and will confirm direction in EU.
With the BoD moving the seats around and E& on board, it's a waiting game. Market wont like it but the cash will keep flowing.
I have already spent the next dividend :-
Probably go down even more tomorrow

I unfortunately bought into this share almost five years ago and over time averaged down. If the price and dividend stays the same for the next five years I will just about break even...You win some you loose some!
Whole sector is down today. BT lost similar % today.
Remember this quote:
“The market can be irrational for longer than you can remain solvent “
Patience….
Well the past is the past, for me out of those 3 which have the potential to grow the most? is it the 2 companies who have already seen over 300% growth or the company that is down over 50%, who have clearly identified areas for improvement (divestment in some area's, mergers in others), will they work? who knows but for me there is more upside than downside at this point
"So 20K in VOD 5 years ago is now worth below 9K, the same in Apple would now be worth about 65K etc etc, need I say more & that's without any dividends being factored in."
Past performance is no guarantee of future results, "need I say more"?
'Why don’t you all sell this shxt '
You guys are working overtime today, or is that this evening with the voice of moderation loL
You guys need to get out of your positions before you get Fok'd
Although Porsche's way of putting things is not my style he is probably talking sense.
Vodafone are down from about 2.20 to 91p in the last 5 years. Apple are up about 325% & Microsoft up about 305% over the same period. THAT DOESN'T MAKE VOD A NO BRAINER BUY now as some on here keep spouting. It is 91p for a variety of reasons.
So 20K in VOD 5 years ago is now worth below 9K, the same in Apple would now be worth about 65K etc etc, need I say more & that's without any dividends being factored in.
Just be careful all you guys throwing all your money into this share, as much as i would like to see this do well, in previous years this has gone in the wrong direction after results day, this share has never been a no brainer as some have mentioned here
just be careful here guys, it's only my opinion of course
best of luck whatever you decide to do
Why don’t you all sell this shxt and salvage what capital you can and buy something quality on a summer pullback like Msft or apple, U.K. dividend shares are the utter pits. You can get 5pc risk free on treasuries, this junk will have to slash or suspend the dividend, you are talking about a 40/50p share.
The merger with 3 is not a good sign. It is a sign that the company is now too financially weak to fund its own 5g investment program, so it must give away a portion of its uk market share to a rival.
Selling towers is a bad sign, as is getting into bed with a minority shareholder. You can see the market reaction to that.
Time to wake up and admit sucking a div out is not best for the company.
Today
Casshy posts ... Over 8% yield...plus no doubt capital appreciation up to this date...a gift.
Go very careful if you are thinking of investing here.
Just say the dividend is cut nest week, it is definitely a possibility & then Casshy won't get his 8% yield & the SP will be in the 80's ... then it may be a nicer gift !!
" Looks like south African rand and Vodacom falling"
also....Airtel results out today - SP down 6% as net finance costs increased 79% due to the devaluation of some African currencies.
What a joke... it never went upto 90.50 today so far. so how can you buy it..?
Excellent buy price...just bought more at 90.50....Over 8% yield...plus no doubt capital appreciation up to this date...a gift!!!....takeover at these low prices...the merger with 3 is a good sign for starters!
Looks like south african rand and vodacom falling
How many companies are valued lower now than their lowest price during Covid?
GS wins
He knows who he is
Looks like the market absolutely hated this news
This is getting pummelled
88 would be disappointing but so would missing 188. Just wait and see and pick up the div in the meantime gla
Looks like they will be carving up the intellectual property rights in Group. Not sure about a takeover but a big deal looks likely, maybe africa...
Considering we have been trending downwards all week and again today and your 97p requires a +5% uplift then i'd say your closer to 2 fat ladies than your are lucky 97
'Is it good or bad news?'
Good news for PI investors imo. I got 97 in the friday prophecy too LoL
Two fat ladies at the gate 88 or Vodafone in heaven, lucky number 97?
