Are we expecting a trading update next week? Normally mid / late November.
Because of the high debts, the company might have to have a rights issue to bolster the balance sheet..(re last interims). This a major reason l guess
Debt in June was £219m and is now probably nearer to £235m
Writer and actors strike and the increase in debt caused the problem.
However on the positives:
Writer and Actor strike finished and Hollywood is desperate to make tons of movies/tv
Videndum sold Lightstream, Rainmaker and API.stream to Xsolla, so nice cash injection
New chairman, give direction and connections to industries.
Restructuring reduced cost base helped to mitigate the decline in revenue.
Actors strike probably ending, ZOO Is up 40%...
No director deals, no uplift...
Does anyone know the debt levels or anything which might indicate the neg?
I'm happy I got some cheap ZOO as mentioned by someone on here before but surely growth is coming to Vid?
Thanks in advance
And another:

Oh and the writers strike started on the 2 May 2023 when the share price was 713
Hollywood working overtime to get lots of movies and tv produced, Videndum can charge a premium and be fully booked for the next year to make lots of revenue.
Would be looking for this share to re-rate to over 800 in the next couple of weeks.
The actors strike started on the 16 July when the price was 600.
Hollywood will be moving fast to get all movies and tv show into production for cinema and streaming.
As such, I expect that Videndum can charge a premium and will be fully booked for the next year or more to cover the tons of filming happening to catch up and meeting run rates.
As such, expect this share to move back past 700 levels fast now that news of the strike end is happening.
Happy to get a couple of buys in here and at ADF first thing this morning.
US actors' union Sag-Aftra says it has agreed a tentative deal with Hollywood studios to end a months-long strike.
Sag-Aftra reached agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and TV Producers (AMPTP) in a unanimous vote, ending the 118-day shutdown.

Would expect the strike to end very soon, seems like the industry wants to get back to work fast:

Anticipation of actors strike getting resolved this week?
Now at 410...
Someone bought 2.5m shares on the 30th August at an average of 506, could be looking to buy another large chunk now to average down?
Not been a good few days, not been a good few months. Well underwater here, average around £9. But, but, I think the fall is excessive. Sure, profits are massively down, but it's still in profit, which is pretty impressive in the circs. And it is a well run and (normally) cash generative business.
So, despite not being a fan of catching falling knives, I added 33% to my holding just before close @£2.99 (if accepted), taking my average down to £7.50.
Will take a while to get back into the green, possibly more than a year, but I think it will.
And there is still a short postilion of 400K shares to close!
Expect this back to the 500's fast once the big buys land.
Very little free float, and now at the end of the writer and actor strikes.
Third day of down so im in now on that alone as bottom reached., if logic proceeds should be a good day tomorrow
Zoo results out, and appears that any tree shaking is finished, sellers cleared out, and now at floor.
The movie and tv industry is about to start up fast with productions in the pipeline.
Studios are ready to make as much content as possible to catch up and bank lots for the future.
Plus all the tv/movie production teams are looking to rush all production through as they have been equally hurt by the shutdown:

It's going to have to be so cheap as to allow them to forward sell and, as the sp is already falling towards 300...
I lost a couple of k here from yesterday, you win some and lose some, as long as you get it right 6 times out of ten, you won’t do so bad. I hope this comes good for you longs. A RI looks nailed on.
Looks to me like there are some bigger issues than the impact of Hollywood strike to force spectre of rescue rights issue.
Would like to buy as its got a great position, but something is very rotten in the state of Denmark here, and I'm unsure what
Hollywood writers are officially ending their five-month strike, after union leaders approved an agreement made with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and sent the full details of the new contract to union members for ratification.
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) said in a statement on Tuesday evening that writers would be free to work starting after midnight local time, while a ratification vote takes place on a new three-year contract with Hollywood studios that won concessions on writers’ payment, terms with streaming shows, and the use of artificial intelligence.

My thinking is that the 30% drop since y'day would be the discount on a placing anyway, esp. as the placing suggested will already have been sorted before the news. much cheaper than 350 would be a real slap in the face for holders.
