Low volume at the moment of course, but still going to set a small buy order myself tomorrow I think.
Earnings update is still a good few weeks away, but at this price I fancy the prospect of another small trade.
If I have missed the boat this time, and the low print was made today, so be it. The longer term pot remains untouched. GLA.
I added today to my currently small position. Haven't received execution notification but should have bought about 35k at 50p.
Closed just under 50p. I bout some just above 50p. should see some support around this level. and the start of a recovery next week perhaps. don't want to be out come monday.
I reckon we will see some buyers come in around the 48/49p level, should we hit that price range.
In fact I know we will, at least for one investor anyway :) GLA.
Crazy swing on small volume these few days. This will come good sooner or later imo.
Schroders and Redwood Capital both been adding these few months is good enough for me and a clear direction of IIs support.
Dyor,imo
I seem to remember you said you were going to bottom draw this one for a couple of years, not that long ago?
Anyway, no harm in changing your mind if that is how you feel. Good luck with your other and future investments.
Well, that's me out. Putting what little I have left here after a~ 60% haircut. All that's left in the bottom drawer is a 1988 copy of Rustler and a few mothballs.
Have to laugh- i sold on a limit 52p and it sold me at 51.7. Now the Ask is 52. Will go up nicely now i'm out.
GLA
Gut feeling was right. Will be interesting to see if we can get back above the 50 DMA before the close today.
I wonder if we have a short(s) increasing their position?
Still scratching my head over the TRS short. Does anyone here know much about them, beyond the basics on their website etc? An arbitrage play perhaps?
In truth, it has given me pause for thought, more than it might otherwise have done with more familiar shorter names. Would not normally bat much of an eyelid with a sub 3% short interest, and at the time of print it is an insignificant percentage. Hence my arbitrage comment. Going to keep watching for now. Still got the small core position, FWIW. GLA.
Nope. Looking to see if it holds the 50 DMA. Feels like it wants to go lower IMO. Also feels like another little trade might be close at the same time, so am watching closely now.
Might not happen of course, which will be fine too. Lots of key economic data coming up this week. No need to chase in this market, to my mind. GLA.
Today looked like price was dropped just searching for stop loss positions. Did anyone buy today?

It is not stable enough to be correlated to anything apart from a push from institutional investors or the size of the throng of traders on the day from what I see. Certainly not the US job market.
Sp still weak today. but this could reverse at any moment. US jobs number out in the US was quite hot. this could cause a market drop / correction of 10%. be careful.

Millennium International Management LP closed their shorts from .85% to 0% on 31st May on the same day an II sold out significant volume (11Million trades) causing the share price to drop to 54p.
MIM smart to lock-in shorted profits.
What a coincidence, no inside information there... some leaky information.
imo,dyor.

I am guessing the seller on Friday was Davidson Kempner who reduced holdings from 6% to 5% on 16th May.
They must have sold the outstanding 12.6million shares they had. Which is similar scale to the volume on Friday.
Interesting question is who bought those from them?
IMO,dyor
We now know it was a £8M sale on Friday. Curious who sold and who bought.
Glad it was a quick buy/sell transaction and not a slow drip. Obviously someone wanted to take the shares off the II that wanted to sell. We can now bounce back to higher levels pls.
IMO,DYOR.

Could it be director buy? After the £5m sell off, expecting an TR-1 notification on who sold and who bought. Hopefully sold to solid buyer who believes in the long-term of this business and leadership team.

Significantly undervalued. It will correct itself over time. If you want short-term catalysts for a quick trade, find another stock. imo, dyor.
"as inferred from your comments"
I posed really basic questions as to potential catalysts for upside and timing thereof. No real answers have yet been provided. If you want to infer from questions that "they're no catalyst or reasons to buy" (sic) then that would be odd but that's up to you. My interest is to go long, but not simply on a whim. "Cheap" is a necessary but not sufficient reason to invest. Hence my questions...
As for it going down, for one there will be increasing pressure - absent sufficient, defined catalysts for appreciation - on current institutional holders to dump a dog (particularly if it begins to no longer meet their basic risk criteria) and ownership will need to rotate to those who enjoy distressed situations or non-publicly traded holdings. So, yes, there's risk there.
@PUTUP, what's your interest, are you shorting Vanquis? Or u just observing. If they're no catalyst or reasons to buy as inferred from your comments then I guess you think it is heading down? In which case, what are the catalysts for it to go down?
Never try to catch a falling knife...
Yes, watch Millenium. They have increased across multiple tickers. The algo will be leading them so best to find out if the have a change in lead IT/ fund management. They are following rather than leading so might well have a problem themselves. 54p was a gift today…but then at 48p I’ll be thinking when will I grab at the bottom!!!

Is it all going Pete Tong? 40s coming??
The volume is a bit more than usual over the past few days.. I suspect there is a seller behind the scenes today.

Well sure but 2 and 3 aren't catalysts and 1 requires some definition/granularity. Re:
1. Timeframe? Intermediate steps/milestones?
2. Without catalysts to change it can stay cheap for a very long time
3. While I see some minor easing hereI believe it's going to occur much slower than we'd all like and won't be as extensive as we might hope for.
PUTUP, 3 immediate catalysts I see are the following: 1) firstly is resolving the CMC issues 2) NAV to share price is significantly discounted. 3) Lower Interest Rates.
I've been watching this for a few weeks. What are the catalysts to share price upside here? I see reasonable fundamentals developing over the balance of 2024 and 2025 but I'm struggling to identify catalysts in the near term for meaningful upside appreciation before late 2025 and 2026. Genuinely seeking input from those that have followed this for much longer than me...

Still too high to re-enter for a trade, another 2 to 3p drop and I will come back in.

Good spot. Either way, a nothing burger, as our friends across the Pond might say :)
Increased holding though via cfds or similar, so not selling out
Well, we got one, but probably not the one we expected :) Could be another one in the pipeline I guess.
Either way, nothing to worry about, just an II trim, IMO.
Expecting an RNS today considering the volume we had on Friday.
Where is the supply coming from? At this rate tough to find the supply to match the demand.

Persistent 10k buying...who's buying?
I honestly have no idea. A vertical rise would suit me of course, lol, but I would actually be quite happy to see a slight pull back, maybe to around 62p ish, and then another solid base form over a week or so, similar to that which happened during the first couple of weeks of May.
Still a long way from the level that I hope to be making my next decision on though.
Not a buyer at these prices either (although IMO the chart looks good), so it is a watching game for me right now. GLA.
I'll be happy if it stays above 60p this week and does not succumb to short term profit taking, I need 69p to break even but slow and steady is fine with me.
Will this week be another exciting week or we gonna see some stability or correction activity in the share price?
What your predictions?
Hope we see more IIs buying from Schroder and Redwood.
Dyor, imo

Fair enough, I'll have another dig around
Market Screener is outdated. It shows Neil Woodford holding, and he's not held for many years ever since his scandal.
Have a look at Market Screener, it has everyone with more than 3%

If the complaints did normalise surely the share price should be back well over £1... I think now people see where the complaints come from and the very low uphold rate it's a matter of time until it's resolved
It is completely ridiculous that it's not been addressed by the regulator, why a tinpot cmc is allowed to do it is beyond comprehension. Granting someone a credit card is different to a loan imo, a credit card is a borrowing facility, if repaid it costs nothing each month, so I do think its a different profile to past companies that suffered payday type complaints but just my opinion
I largely agree with Thunder, when the regulator sorts itself out I will buy in further. VANQ have a skilled and enthused management team. However, at present, you can literally use one computer to bring down a bank which is absurd
Nice run!
I think we all need to calm down and switch off for a while, it's got vast potential but really we need to let the new management team do their thing, checking back in 2 years Vs selling now could reward holders X2 or X3 which makes taking 20% seem a bit of a wasted opportunity

Agree. It is overbought on technicals right now, but that does not mean a pull back is imminent, nor that it needs a big pull back necessarily to return to 'neutral' or even oversold.
But unless something company-specific changes, then I too am going to continue to ride this wave with the remaining allocation of shares I have here.
The narrative is very interesting right now. If we get to my target exit price, I will take a view then. A pull back on thin air and I will likely repurchase some that I sold recently. Fingers crossed naturally and GLA.
Overbought at less than half what it was a few months ago? That is why I am not a chartist
Technical analysis screaming overbought but I don't care... haha. This is riding a massive wave, buys remain to outstrip sells. Proven by the demand from IIs. DYOR,IMO
Certainly the trajectory of the share price is heading straight to £1 in weeks which will do me
Morning Mary
This is still very under the radar I think but somebody must be looking at taking over before we reach £2
