Just a few % of sales for VANL. A non-issue really. This could be good for VANL in the medium term.
Carillion and it's many tentacles, who next ?
Low volumes but over 3% rise - note that M seems to be keeping hold of his shares. News in the offing????
Someone's just bought 1.5m shares at 88p. I guess they believe in the board and their plans. Buy and hold Imo. Recovery play for 2018. Rich
I received the vote notification but there wasn't a voting sheet in it, only the red example form. To me, Ellis had a lot of valid points and personally would have voted for him, simply because he saw his business going downhill, like the sp since I bought in when it came to market. To me, a committed owner is better than mouth slavering directors lining their pockets! I now wonder if the sp will ever get back to where it was?
Remarkable that there is no movement since the late announcement on Friday. Looks like the market thinks it had priced in Ellis being rejected. Hope for some good news soon and a move back up over £1. Ellis may sell his shares, but large purchasers are most probably more willing to buy now that his threat has gone away.GLA
Just a thought ---- what will Michael Ellis do with his shares (14%), will he sell and walk away.... That could have an impact, the current BoD need to address many issues, which were raised by Michael Ellis ATB
Great news. Onwards and upwards.
Well then....the majority vote speaks for itself. Distraction is behind them, and they have to get on and run ALL divisions of the business, both profitably, and in a sustainable corporate manner ie. don't **** the staff off, nor the customers, nor suppliers, and certainly not the shareholders! I can see this recovering to 100p next week, but after that its up to the BOD. GLA!
Ellis resolutions all rejected. Good! Now BOD can get on with managing business, get some big contract wins and fix share price. Gla Rich
Oh well I hope he was wearing a box...
Should have started at 10am, and not on a Friday!
Looks like the result of the bun fight will only be released after hours. Looks like we have all weekend to think and weigh up its result
Must be time for the vote soon!
BTW Van Elle still have to appoint a CEO, so following the meeting at high noon... A CEO must be high on the agenda
Hi skippy, Yes today's the day, I really cannot call how the meeting will pan out. If Michael Ellis "loses" will he sell his shares and the result could be a fall in share price. If Michael Ellis "wins" will other members of the board resign and sell their share - resulting in a fall in share price. GLA
GLA today.
Just 1 day until the meeting, that will, hopefully, get rod of the uncertainty, and hence, risk. I notice that the low volumes recently, imply, to me,that nobody is selling up and running for the hills. If Ellis is unsuccessful, it will certainly have put a rocket under the existing BOD's, and if there is any merit in his criticisms, they should address the matters urgently, if not done so already. GLA
Got my broker to vote on my behalf to reject Ellis resolutions. I think to do otherwise will cause more instability with the workforce and company, which is no good for anyone. BOD need to fix piling division and get some big contract awards in, to get share price moving upwards. Only concern I have is will Ellis accept situation or sell his big holding down at cheap price? gla Rich
Got my voting papers via my broker this morning. Seems that the recommendation is to reject Ellis....I agree, and hope the sp will move up into the 90's, if not £1 on Friday or soon after. GLA
Has anyone got details yet of voting method for EGM on the 15th? I was contacted yesterday by a guy on behalf of VDM asking if my broker had notified me about the meeting? I hadn't received either mail or corporate action note on my account. Thanks Rich
Sorry Chucka1, I meant in response to Stuartbarriskell's post....senility already at 58!
Read the RNS which says it all today. When I sold my business, I was given golden wings on which to fly away. Van Elle should have done the same to Ellis and his, allegedly, civil-servant son-in-law who was on a very good salary when employed! What did he do for the business?.........rhetorically asked.
Hi Stuartbarriskell I'm not a holder here but shares are trading as normal. The reference to the 15th is the date of a General Meeting where the former chairman (and significant shareholder) has tabled a resolution to put himself and his son-in-law back on the board of directors.
This companies workforce are hard grafting, they get the jobs done on time at a competitive price and they make a profit, just look at the dividends (better than a cash isa) and they own a nice parcel of land which 2nd phase of hs2 will buy in a few years unfortunately as a previously family run private company their pr does seem to a bit off. They have already carried out work for hs2 at there colleges and have invested heavily in new equipment, if I were an outside diverse building company, like renew holdings for instance I would buy van elle at its current price and watch the profits roll in. Long term hold.
