Whilst Neil Woodford was at Invesco he was held to account and he prospered. On his own he could indulge his whims and it was a car crash. There are parallels here once Sanderson was free of Jason Berry. A strong Finance director would never have allowed Sanderson to throw money at unproven assets based on a hunch.
Big red flag that tho oilriches
The problem we have is the ceo. He is not motivated or incentivised by a share price.
Ohmetoe. I do think there is a good opportunity on the turkey drill to make 100% profit but only the brave would hold for any drill results. Ukog is really attractive from a liquidity perspective on turkey
11p was on the back of two things - firstly the hype surrounding Broadford Bridge when every RNS was indicating a successful extension to the Kimm play (remember that?) across the Weald and of course secondly the announcement that the French had bought in - a massive, well funded outfit
We never had any explanation of why they suddenly changed their minds but no doubt they are congratulating themselves on a wise decision to get out
Since then it s been downhill all the way
Oil riches post at 10.04 this morning sums AIM up.
Company is a trade only with sando at the helm , wouldnt be surprised to see or hear he has been prosecuted either in the future
That’s right Tymers only took Sanderson a year to destroy the good work!
Sagerman what was the peak sp in 2017 ? UU
Tymers the answer is Jason Berry the Financial director who died in 2016! Sadly post his death that fool Sanderson has had a free license with devastating effect.
Sagerman. So who are you thanking for the sp reaching g 11p? UU
I suggest a rise and fall reward scheme in line with the value of the SP.
That might also deter his wayward schemes for raising capital and wasting it.
"Oh, he'd never accept a deal like that!"
So be it.
:)
Tymers you rogue we all know that when the sp was 11p we didn’t have 11 billion shares in issue. The market cap is a miserable £24m because of serial mismanagement and failure and most of all Sanderson spending money on unproven potential assets and diluting the company into the ground. We all know this so stop trying to deceive people. If UKOG did what Angus have done ie sack the management and start again putting a businessman at the helm rather than an egotistical geologist we may have a chance. Sanderson needs an 80% pay cut with additional based on sp rises but preferable sacking immediately.
SS needs his paycheck!!
JustBe "What about the obvious danger of another funding knocking this down in price?"
I'd suggest that was guaranteed, rather than a 'danger'.
:(
No problem with traders and/or trading.
As Mirasol, it makes up under 5% of my whole portfolio.
Most of my investments are long term, slow, steady, and reliable.
I only got into UKOG originally to experiment with 'trading' (very loosely).
It amuses me that when I mentioned it here back then, I was universally derided.
I never tried to mislead anyone, just gave some visibility to what I had done, how successful I'd been, and how quickly.
If I thought the SP would go up, I'd say so.
If I thought it was more likely to fall, I'd say that.
Two years ago I made a lot from trading (mainly UKOG).
I was banking half my profits and re-investing the rest (I split half to hold and half to carry on trading).
Now, by hopeless mismanagement, there are few opportunities to trade and limited (if any at all) future possibilities for the long term here.
It pains me to see newcomers to this board instilled with confidence from, essentially, confidence tricksters.
There's so much garbage here that it doesn't even contribute to the over 'feel' of the share, just muddies the waters.
I've even had to start using my filter, just to reduce the amount I'm wading through.
Those users won't mind and they have nothing of any use to offer me, so I'm just taking back some of my day.
Ashamed for the newb's who get sucked in by it.
:)
Directors have to start to buy especially SS.
So your saying it was SS who got the share price to 11p? UU
Just be. The funding won’t be secured until farm out approval by the government. There is some price moving events before then. As said long term this is not an investment, particularly with SS at the helm. Ukog will still have a few million in the bank. The only real bonus here is the liquidity of the stock....I think the overhang from the previous placing in June is pretty much gone. I.e everyone that wanted to sell is out at these levels (in general). Plenty new buyers starting to take positions.
If look at Alba minerals (partner of horsehill), their SP up 25%. They have great assets and hope they crystallise it by disposing it at demanding market. Wish UKOG can do the same.
What about the obvious danger of another funding knocking this down in price?
Best post i have read for ages.. we live and die by the sword. Newbies and myself take note. GL
AfterUKOG spent so much time and investment on Horsehill, we really need return on investment and horsehill has to be performed better than current level.
.
To be honest aim is not a place for long term investment. I tried it in 2017 and by 2019 I had lost £100k. I held that stock in the hope of a recovery and more and more dilution came. It got to the point I needed an 8 bagger to break even.....I got a total spanking. I do plan long term holdings on the ftse but waiting to see what happens with COVID-19 in October and the us elections. For LTH the best way to get some losses back is move out the stock (there is no certainty the next stock won’t fall), average down or trade it. I am not trading this but sell down if it goes into the 0.3s. Again there is no certainty on anything
Fair enough riches - I have friends who do the same - takes up too much of their life IMHO but that's their choice.
I think AIM is a dangerous place to play games with lots of cash tho - its less than 5% of my total holdings - the mad money.....
Mirasol. I certainly am not trying to mug anybody off tbh. I do see a short term rise and it’s another question if it actually happens. This is not a long term investment for me but a speculative one in the short term. The long term holders need to accept an investment can go up or down and only invest what u are prepared to lose. I could be wrong about the short term and could be locked in. However liquidity and interest says otherwise but I don’t know how high it will go
