Any reason why this has suddenly gone back up again??
Agreed. This is a nice growth company. I wonder if there is also a read across from G4M?
I'm with you millionaire. I am also absolutely sure that the company will continue to innovate in this exciting niche sector. As a generalisation, musicians practice and work hard to improve, some of this improvement comes from newer, better equipment so ongoing purchases of equipment is most likely. Also, irrespective of economic conditions, musicians just keep on making music! As an aside, the Investorrs Chronicle reiterated its 'buy' recommendation yesterday following the results. A great company
Looking very good here... yesterdays results convinced me to top up. I think this company will only get better but they have to ensure they keep innovating to maintain their market leading product range. I'll hold this for the next few years I think...
This is a brief update for those interested in the music equipment-maker. A part of my Investment First Look series, which you can check it out http://bit.ly/2pwtE41 and keep me your thoughts. Okay, onto Focusrite. To be honest I like this company a lot. I like the financial statements, the business model and the years of experience. I believe Paul Scott has a long position in the company. Brief It got listed in December 2014, at 126 pence per share, valuing it at £76m. Now, the shares at 248 pence, a doubling in valuation. Facts A. Interim revenue grew from £20m to £32m in three years. B. Cash balance at £9m plus accounts for 23% of total assets. C. Zero debt. D. Earnings per share compounding at 16% in the last five years, which excludes the 84% increase in today’s interims. E. Half the revenue derives from the U.S., meaning the strong U.S. Dollar is translating to higher earnings. Valuation I can see Focusrite making £10m in net profit by year-end if the pace of growth carries forward to the second-half. At, £130m market cap. it gives a forward-PE of 13-14 times, an undervaluation if EPS compounding by 16%! Therefore, this company warrants further research. Why the growth in Focusrite? It probably got to do with shows like the X-Factor or The Voice. And musicians making money from YouTube videos. The original post: http://bit.ly/2pEU5CR
I bought a small amount of shares yesterday after researching, agree with your sentiments and a nice update today. I'll be adding regularly on the run up to end of year results as I feel this is still undervalued. Great products and management from what I could see from my research. Greater exposure to the US market will reap rewards IMO.
I am an avid reader of BB's for shares I hold or am interested in. It amazes me that there are no posts on here. Focusrite is an excellent business, a global leader in it's niche market and constantly developing new and advanced products for a market which will just keep on playing. Very profitable and financially in excellent health. What's more, the company delivers what it says it will. Really pleased to have purchased a good while back and will remain a long term holder.
http://tinyurl.com/h7uau5q Focusrite PLC (LON:TUNE), the group that provides tech products to the music industry, released a solid set of first half results for 2016, with revenue up almost 9% on the previous year to £25.9mln and underlying earnings (EBITDA) rising to £4.8mln. Phil Dudderidge, chairman and founder of Focusrite, tells Proactive its two established brands - Focusrite and Novation both grew in the first half, with an increase in demand from Asia, particularly South Korea, where people have “woken up to electronic music”. He also says that he is pleased with the uptake of its Launchpad app, which is a software version of its hardware range, allowing anyone to start creating music. The focus for this year will be to continue to grow organically, as well as to branch out into other product categories, which can be done organically or through acquisition, with the company “actively looking at businesses that are ripe for acquisition” Dudderidge adds.
Keeping a close eye on this one. Popped it into my virtual folio, looks like it will have legs given the shear amount of contacts within the company. Already many contracts in place with majors.
