You have to hold and be on the share register at the close tomorrow. You can sell on Friday. Payment day is on the 2nd July.
Good morning.I’m new to trading. When can I sell my Tesco shares to still get the divi? Also when does it get paid?TIA and GLA
Hope you get it, I got out yesterday, will be back in if I see three ducks in a row (222). GL
Let's hope this provides enough uplift to stop the SP going down with the rest of the market.
FTSE right now is opening up 60 points down. UK is positive wrt to CV19 recovery so we could trend upwards from a small gap down.
My target price to sell Tesco before ex-div is 236, which is now looking pretty optimistic.
We'll see. Cheers and GL.
Tomorrow

Thanks leas. Useful info
Let's hope this continues even after the ex-dividend.....it's been too long on the low....
Steve
That was a UT trade. An uncrossing trade, which for simplicity is the amount of shares being returned at the end of a trading day in order to balance their books.
It is irrelevant in terms of trading but sometimes distort the closing price of a share.
Best to ignore.
Interesting trade
14-May-21 16:35:12 230.95 6,117,006 Buy* 230.80 230.85 14m
No need Leas, it is all a learning curve for me
If I was a buyer I'd wait until after ex-dividend..
Think all the snidey share buyers are after the dividend.
All have TSCO now as a buy, even Shore that have been neutral. Upgrade from Morgan Stanley. Still cheap in my opinion below 3 but as a shareholder I would think that.
Lots of positives as restrictions are eased but the pandemic is still out there.
But that was on etouro £1750 then leveraged it by. x5 so it becomes £8750 with a daily fee of $2 .
So far so good ..
Exciting platform overall since February I’ve built up my funds once I was more confident how to use leverage etc and traded 300 times!
And my gain I hear you ask ? Currently breaking even .
You can check me out as Theeredbaron but don’t copy trade me for your own health !
So with the money I got ( after a week ) I bought them back them back at an average
226.47 .. I’m a genius . ;-)

The answer is in the hands of colleagues. That is what USDAW is for or, better still, just work the shift hours and go home. Do this a couple of times and the issue will be rectified.
My wife is due to retire in Sept from the Hatfield extra. She has performed her role for 22years and suggested it would be a good idea to identify a replacement and start to train them.Answer was you are full time,we will get 2 part time, they will soon learn.
I have told her if there is any silly behaviour to get her coat and walk.
Sadly it is not Tesco alone. Many companies are employing unskilled labour, paying under the going rate but giving the individual an inflated job title.
A 1,000 at 223 ! The other day Yippee ,
No ones gone for the shift leader’s positions on dot com yet or the two positions on nights ,
Duties to include Rotas, organising staff when managers off and taking notes in meetings,
The extra pay £1 an hour , ! Criminal at least make it two, as such after being asked if I wanted the fresh position I turned it down pointing out after tax etc it’s about 75p an hour, and I’ll end staying to 7 every day so 2.5 hours a week more unpaid (£23) so it will work out about £10 for the privilege of being a skivvy . One of the night manners have left on nights to go to Morrison’s as he’s been run into the ground doing 10-7/8am so extra hours unpaid ,he’s gone to Morrison’s does 9-7 4 day week and is on more than he was on here! He’s not being replaced .
No ones taking the drivers shift lead positions as it’s the same scenario, and now they are starting to churn through drivers as they only pay £9.99. DPD warehouse down the road pay £11 I wonder where they are going!
And now they want to strip 220 hours off the tills asking them to take another job less hours or here’s your 4 week notice, temps, flexible contracts but not lovely ladies that have been there 20 years on the old contracts that’s not right is it even legal?
I did see USDAw taking a stand for some warehouse workers on the rehiring and rehire you for less,
So on that thesis alone staff costs are plummeting ! It’s a raging buy for me!
apologies @ Steve
LSE can only publish trades at the time the receive them. For example, a broker could have sold 1m shares to an investor this morning at the price of yesterday's close and inform the market at noon. Of course if the sp was above the day's opening price then it would be listed as a sell.
Although for transparency a 90 second rule is in place and should be enforced but in reality it rarely is. That is why the larger transactions (usually institutional investors) get reported after the closing bell.
Anyway, currently the sp is above the months high so I guess there will be more positivity on the bb.
Remember, for every sell there’s a buy :)
Thanks for that Leas, I just get a bit concerned when I see large volumes of SELLS and next thing we knoe is that the price drops rapidly the next morning
I assume that the share trades on this page may not be 100% accurate
So Eccles, in summary, you settled for mediocrity
