Yeah I'm sure you would sleep well on a £40M paper loss mate hahaha
No I think youdon't get it, she hasn't lost anything unless seh sells at this price. The question is what's the best way to get the value of that shareholding.
You're like a broken record, Debbie's buys will be the only thing that shows you the truth.
Lamborghinis en route
Mate you don't get it! She lost £40M on Friday !!!
Would it be an issue? She made £50m on IPO, and hasn't sold shares before as she clearly doesn't need the cash.
If anything her holding is great for the prospects of a buy out, and if it isn't then it's great because she sees better long term value. TR1's incoming soon
So this and FDEV both down 4 and 5 % respectively today. Sector a bit unloved. I still think that Bestwicks holding here is a big issue as she is well down
Can buy here at 1.76. Directors already down on there 180s purchases already
Sell printed at £1.70, be interesting to see if we carry on down or start to move now.
Time will tell
Dream on Turtle.... This is still dropping
Dude are you sh@gging her? Why are you so obsessed she wouldn't.
She has millions in the bank and I'm viewing this as if I was in her shoes what would I do, and iut's the same thing Tim does over at JD wetherspoons when he doesn't have to.
Take a position to protect and icnrease the value of a large position, she doesn't need to sell out as she made £50m from the IPO. But if she believes in Team 17, and wants to protect that large piece of investment it's the most sensible thing for her to do,
She holds 20% of the company Turtle and she ain't got the money to buy another 20%. She may have to sell her shares cheap to get out. I mean she's 53 and is leaving the company in next few weeks.....
Well the reality is that a lot opf this is because of her, she's still in post and most of this has come udner her tenure. So not convinced her going is the disaster it perhaps was viewed as.
The driver here is somenody seeing the value and taking a position, but yeh seems unlikely now.
Sold out for a small profit. Can see these drifting lower. May go to 160s. Can't really see any drivers to move price so will probably drift until next update. Shame the director buys didn't give the confidence needed. Feels like the Bestwick holding and loss has definitely cast a long shadow
It’s not going to move with the fundamentals until the large seller has gone. I believe someone had dropped around 3-5% in the last week so could be another 1-2% to go depending on who it is. The TR1 rules are a bit lax so might take a while to come through.
Starting to get the feeling somebody's opening a short, time will tell of course.
Hopefully Debbie's buys show up tomorrow
Well not even those large Director Buys have managed to lift this. Looks like it might drift down...
As they say, the cream rises to the top.
It's a game of patience, let the shenanigans play out behind closed doors. Also markets are not on a good place, but things will pickup sooner than later. FDEV also has a fraction of the shares in issue compared to us which means it moves faster, both up and down!
In an unexpected turn of events, Debbie Bestwick, co-founder of the renowned British video game company, Team17 Group, witnessed a drastic drop in the value of her stake in the company. Just weeks ahead of her scheduled departure from Team17, the value of her shares plummeted by £40 million ($50.2 million) on a single Friday.
The Tumble of Team17
Team17, the brain behind the 1990s blockbuster video game ‘Worms,’ watched its shares tumble by a staggering 42%. According to a company statement, underperformance of certain titles and delayed action on ‘overspending’ on some projects were flagged as the primary reasons behind the fall.
A Legacy Under Scrutiny
Bestwick, who is preparing to leave the company she co-founded three decades ago, is the largest stockholder of Team17. With ownership of 30 million shares, the 53-year-old chief executive’s financial position is significantly intertwined with the company’s market performance.
Implications and Industry Repercussions
This drastic fall in share value not only impacts Bestwick’s financial standing but also potentially casts a shadow on her legacy at Team17. The market fluctuations and the consequent drop in share value could trigger a ripple effect in the video game industry, influencing investor confidence and the company’s market valuation.
I'll eat my hat Turtle head if she buys more. Ain't gonna happen....
A large buy orcder bing filled at £1.85
A large sell order being executed at £1.80
I would hedge on the latter, if there was a buy order I don't think we would have flatlined as much.
Hopefully Debbie's big 200,000 order at £1.85 will be declared first thing in the AM.
Frontier FDEV UP 8.85% after having received a reduced target price of 1.75. We get Berenberg target of 4.90 and down on day. Can't make it up
What a disappointment of a day. Even on the 3 day rule or dead cat bounce would of thought we would of had something. Especially with the 4 directors buying circa £400ks worth . Oh well aways tomorrow
She hasn't lost anything as she hasn't sold, watch this space I bet she does!
FDEV up 7% today!
Bestwick I can't see her buying more . She lost £40M on Friday weeks before her exit!
Yes unfortunately as with most stocks, sense goes out of the window, and oversold stocks like this get missed whilst others get pumped.
Time will tell, but the way this is going without some kind of impetus we could be flat lining for a while.
Hopefully those Debbie Bestwicks buys will be released in the AM ;)
