Thanks for the insight, are we then looking at a bump in SP when the Q1 results come out or do we have to wait till the funding is confirmed for a significant increase, my retirement plans are on hold here :)
Sorry if this has already been mentioned; extension on the debt-restructuring (in English, which is nice): "Talvivaara on Wednesday announced it had been granted an extension until end-September to present its debt restructuring plan, saying it must first secure more long-term funding." and "Finnish nickel miner Talvivaara (TLV1V.HE), which is undergoing a debt restructuring, should seek a merger with an industrial partner along with its search for new investors, its administrator said." It is still 50:50 for them to get the funding. I personally think that they are in slightly better shape than they were this time last year: - The performance was decreasing and the incidents were increasing last year. However, this year they are on the path to recovery...so the performance is getting better, no incidents so far this year (touchwood) and clearing the previous year's mess - The legal proceedings are obviously less in no. now and all the leakages / fatalitiy settlements are public knowledge and stakeholders have a better idea which way these could go, in most cases anyway. The Stop Talv group has been quiet for a while as well...so maybe even they are restoring the faith in the company. - The Nyrstar support also increases the confidence slightly as well. - The operations have resumed and there is less uncertainty about the business due to all the above. - They have issued the sustainability report and auditor's report, etc. to try and come clean and also have a strong sales pitch for potential funding. - Due to global nickel demand and less competition due to Russian ban, Indonesion Export ban and few other miners going under (as was posted previously on the board), the business is definitely looking more profitable than this time last year. Q1 interim results will give a good idea of that. Last few years nickel prices have been supressed. That's just all the facts that I am aware of and basing my decision on that! Surprisingly they are all positives as well other than them still being so deep in **** (from past couple of year's) that they need a snorkel...haha Dicussion guys? I'd be happy to see this share go upto 20 - 25p on the news of potential funding and I'll sell. 400% profit from my average of 5.25p, I'll take that :)!
After is all is said and done the only real question is, how likely are they likely to get funding? If the board dig their heels in are we looking at a company that just fails to adapt to a harsh climate faced with strong competition .. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.. I'm sticking with them, well at least till the Q1 results :)
I guess it can be seen as a bad news for those who are hell bent on exiting before the de-listing. And bad news also as it seems that the company is no mood to restructure in the absence of funding in case they fold. However, when I ask myself whether I really care what the structure of the organisation is like...there are million and one companies each with their own organisation structure...Does that give me any confidence in trading in one over the other? Probably not, do I look at the management structure for all the companies I invest in, no is the answer again. I do look at the top layers (names and their linkedin / press profiles) to see how capable they are running the business! The statement on the re-organisation was not going to shed any light on the savings within the company as the big overheads / renumeration packages were mentioned in the RNS earlier anyway. So from affecting the share point of view, I don't know how it would have had any impact. The deferral could actually also put more pressure on the govt. or the partners who have vested interest in the company. I'm definitely going all the way with this share cos the extra charges that'll come with trading of this share in Finnish exchange will be dwarfed by the profits. GLA
Power, Hargreaves Lansdown got mentioned earlier and I use Saxo Bank who are slightly cheaper than Hargreaves.
Can somebody recommend a good broker who would trade on the Helsinki stock market pls
iceberg?
JAL, I have paper losses on all my shares. But that is like most, at this time. No biggie. Glad you averaged down. I will be sure to research that one - thank you. My average is 3.2p on KDR. Good luck.
I've averaged down to 1.373 ish but have a monster holding now. Not concerned about the paper loss as the fundamentals are absolutely sound, particularly with Centamin as a JV partner in one of 3 drill projects running. Confident they'll wish to invest more. Excellent time to buy in but DYOR.
at a mere £2 loss .... but out and don't need to worry about this nightmare anymore. Good luck to all that are staying ...
So it's not only me feeling like that mate......I did manage to sell half of my holding during yesterday spike and I now wished I sold them all.....GL.
Schlepper, 110% agreed with that statement. That is my take on the position of Talvivaara and holders, also. This is why i feel it is a bad RNS and reason for my rant earlier. I just did not choose to digress.
To me it looks like that the extra time given to the company to sort the funds means that current holders here will not see the rewards of such deal if/when reached.....because of TALV plans to de-list from the London market come July......this is smell bad to me knowing most holders will aim for the exit rather than hold shares in the Helsinki market!!! any thought welcome....
Will do Jal74. Thank you. ALO is that the one with an average of 2.1p? ATB
Many thanks FIB. Will look at KDR and may tap you up if i need some extra info. I wish you all the best on your investments also. One to watch from me, ALO - but DYOR.
Jal74, all good my side and we shall move on. i agree with your last post. Stable SP is all i desire, certainly not the sub 5p but I am sorry when i say, I fear for this share price. IMHO Having now read through your posts, holdings and averages you seem a pleasant and intelligent chap and no derogatory or hard feelings. I am not ramping when I offer the following tip, have a read on another Finnish prospect, KDR. But please DYOR. Good luck on all your acquistions.
"The Administrator and Talvivaara are engaged in discussions with potential financing and industrial partners for a long-term financing solution for the Talvivaara Group. Certain industrial and financial arrangements for the continuation of operations of the Company and Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd have already been reached so that the restructuring programmes can be set up."
I see where you are coming from FIB. Apologies if my post was derogatory in any way. I feel the current price has held up well since the last progressive rise. Certainly hasn't dropped back to sub 5p levels following the rise to 10p in Dec 13. I would have loved to have seen an RNS today confirming that a funding solution was in place - I'm sure the SP would have been 17p and rising had that been the case. I certainly feel the SP has a strong chance of sitting closer to 9p by the end of May.
Hello Jal74, you and I see things slightly differently then. The bad news is in no news on funding. I hope for your sakes you are right, but i have a different take on it. With no funding, means no mining. Simples. We can only wait for Q1 production stats and a production statement in it's future plans. For me, that will be our minnow product, Zinc.
Where is the bad news in the RNS posted today. Agree that it serves better for the long run but the current SP should remain relatively stable until we have further news later this month. Whilst the delisting news isn't great, the SP has bounced back to pre-delisting RNS SP so should give UK investors a chance to benefit in the interim.
Very strange post. Can someone not be positive on good news and negative on bad news then. That is not a question by the way. Thank you for reading my previous minds. So i am now to read that, your post, as 'suspicious minds' nope and incredible, really. I do not plan to short myself, reduce my average and certainly not buy in more at a lower entry point. Yes, delisting is negative, completely. Why is it positive? Yep, we will know when the Q1 production figures are out - extension to that also. Or more conveniently just watch/listen to the company conference call.
You sound like you're after a lower entry price. Just read your comments posted in April about TALV. All very positive. Surely a POSSIBLE delisting from the London SE hasn't created such negativity in your view. We'll know whether production has ceased when the Q1 production output figures are out.
RNS is not good in the short term, maybe long term. This is NOT good news for us. Good news was expected before a potential de-listing. Mining has and will stop without long term investment. Our priced asset, Nickel mining, has stopped.
The Administrator and Talvivaara are engaged in discussions with potential financing and industrial partners for a long-term financing solution for the Talvivaara Group. Certain industrial and financial arrangements for the continuation of operations of the Company and Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd have already been reached so that the restructuring programmes can be set up. The extension was applied for as submission of the restructuring programme proposals is not considered feasible until sufficient long-term financing has been secured.
