I think the CEO needs to be replaced. The price is now below where they came in at. Something is very wrong in the direction they are taking the company.
What happened to water being a defensive?
.
Darkelf99 - not in yet, was looking to buy in to trade the dividend, I have been a shareholder in the past as part of the share save scheme. Offwat new amp 5 year concerns ahead as well as more competition to come.
I am a share holder and want the shares to go up Reminding everyone that 'Anyone can sell business water' nowadays to businesses Can some one tell me when the law changes for joe public ie me are able to buy there water from any company
Maverick - got stuck in this now. Not topped up as I don't which way it will go. Are you in or on the sidelines
I thought it would bounce off 20 as its been trading between 20 - 25, in line with dividend payments, but its gone through that key level, 16 likely?
Yes but I bet 20% discount was set at 2500. I take the money -lol
Its not that much of a shame for the employees with a share save maturing because they got a 20% discount on the share price.
At this rate, the SP will be in the same range on her fourth anniversary as the day Liv Garfield started. Must be a shame for those employees with Share-saves maturing.
We have invisible populations the size of cities like Manchester living in "sheds in Beds' which use water too - perhaps HMGOV should consider the impact on water companies instead of looking for more sticks to beat us with.
All in just 6 months. Crazy volatility for a supposed 'boring' water utility.
ofwat are poking their noses in and saying they will be driving down water bills in the next price review. thats all very well but i suspect our underground water pipes are probably not far off the state of our pot holed filled roads that we have to drive on these days so by cutting charges it will only in the end effect the infrastructure that is why this country is going backwards masses of people and new homes but no infrastructure what so ever to support it all, and what we do have is falling to bits
What a lack of direction, too lazy to even fail
Not departing until next summer, even though she doesn’t appear to hold a position within the new company structure (unless i’m mistaken).
Cheers Royc. I dont tend to hold a lot of faith in broker targets personally, always seem different opinions from each broker when compared to the next. Svt is a good solid well run business, worked there for a couple of decades, and have held my shares for just as long, just seemed a big lift for the one day. Mates still working there not to sure why either. Anyways its all good and like you am looking forward to getting back to the 25 area. :)
Hi Dayt..price rise due to HSBC upgrade from hold to buy with target 2300p. This folllows on from Ofwats positivity re STs efforts in reducing sewer flooding. Seems a long while since the shares hit the dizzy heights of >25. RoyC
On the reasons behind the 40p lift in the opening price from Fridays close price today? Seems quite a big jump up to me with no obvious reason.
P/E of 14.9 Dividend 3.9%
Director departure after two years - Paid bundles, given lots of shares, never saw her! worth every penny http://www.iii.co.uk/alliance-news/1504514606105146800-3/severn-trent-managing-director-leaves-role-as-division-restructures
An RSI of 19 for such a large company and defensive share is ultra low and surprising. Bid target.
All utilities being hammered at the moment and over-sold. Some M&A activity probable.
Poor scores again, but doesn't appear to have affected the SP.
The solution is simple. At the time of the trade set a rule that the MM needs to declare the trade "buy" or "sell". But that will not change the situation much. It isn't really that difficult to work out which trades are buys/sells...just observe the actual prices going through and you can work it out. The more critical information that is hidden from immediate view comes from the large trades whose declaration may be delayed for days... MMs are allowed to delay declaration of trades seemingly at their own discretion.
