Still waiting for the proper bid from big Mike.
Seems to be lacking the confidence to make a formal offer?
He needs to bid tomorrow if the Sky report about a prepack is at all true. Otherwise he can say goodbye to his 30% stake and he wants to buy it from the ex bond holders they will charge him markedly more than a simple equity bid
Because the loan is going to be declined whereas the takeover bid is guaranteed
Why would he pay money to shareholders when he can give them a loan to be converted to equity later with control now.
Shareholders will get nuttin.

Surely this must be imminently due as his six month bidding ban ended last night? Whilst he has a £1bn war chest to make acquisitions with, is there any risk he may use SPD stock to make the bid?
Well you just couldn't make this up...lol https://news.sky.com/story/patisserie-valerie-sports-direct-offers-to-buy-collapsed-bakery-chain-11631863 I think I'll buy in when this gets below 50p....
World domination in MA's sight, Furniture, Bicycles, Sports, Department Stores, Music, just needs to buy Patisserie Valerie and nearly got the full set....lol
You just can't buy this sort of story https://www.theguardian.com/money/2019/jan/27/stephen-rubin-owner-of-jd-sports-coates-ashley-dyson-paid-most-tax-last-year-with-181m-bill
Maybe he will buy up a complete town and call it Mashville.....
He may well buy it for the prime leases now it's gone pop.
Don't forget the bicycles.....you can eat some cakes, cycle to the SPD gym on your SPD/Evans bicycle whilst listening to some SPD/HMV music wearing something from your local SPD/HOF department store...lol
All we need now if for MA to buy PatV so that I can go into his shops - eat a cake - buy some music - and get some jogging bottoms at the same time!!!
HOF "Sales at the department store have tumbled by 60pc over the 12 weeks to 18 December, according to figures by Kantar Worldpanel, seen by The Telegraph." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2019/01/20/house-fraser-dealt-blow-sales-crash-run-up-christmas/
Sports Direct founder Mike Ashley is reportedly in talks to buy music chain HMV.
We should change the name from the High Street to Ashley Avenue!
Is this one man mission ever going to come to a grinding halt ?
Apologies if already seen but suspect this one is going to go the distance as well https://www.retailgazette.co.uk/blog/2018/12/tk-maxx-owner-sues-sports-direct-amid-brand-max-trademark-dispute/
Rudderless ship.
I cannot see any RNS regarding this and see there was not one last year. Is there any indication how SPD and HoF trading was over this critical period?
House of Fraser store locator on line is very out of date but I don't think there's a branch of that in Liverpool . Planned or Unplanned. Ruderless ship https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/shock-sports-direct-set-close-15674554
Hm I think he should focus on his own company and be releasing some Christmas trading figures for HoF and Evans which were insolvent and I doubt whether anything has changed there. Probably got worse. But if there is nothing adverse to hide, there is not need for the secrecy.
MA's plan looks like trying to pick up the scraps of DEB post insolvency event. Does he want the stores for SD or is he looking to eliminate another rival for the chav £ ?
Press reports at the weekend suggest your chief executive is seeking pastures new. Must think he has achieved all he can here if the press reports are accurate.
