from Buchanan Street could be next on the cards Cambridge Blue. Probably wouldn't even need the council's consent and some officials and councillors might even be persuaded to go though the polis wouldn't allow mulled wine in the street.
Way above my head Cambridge and probably one for the Oxford Union Debating chambers. I think the results are due here soon for any investors to discuss and with Christmas approaching don't really have time to keep tabs on my own portfolio let alone look in here. Have a merry Christmas Shalom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WDLX1Re1tY
point was they aren't a charity - despite their claim to be - how to put it - a separate and distinct entity from the Scottish government.
Well I know I support St Andrew's hospice at this time of year by sponsoring a light on a town centre Christmas tree at this time of year. I hope it is not the HoF customers alone who will be putting their hands in their pockets at this event and that the company makes a contribution. I support what Nil by Mouth stands for and I hope you do as well.
Nil by mouth receives almost all of its funding from central government.
How that makes it a "charity" is well er.. a "feature" of the current charity law arrangements.
Old dinosaurs become extinct. Magrit and Doreen were pals and saw life in a beautiful light. This is what the new blood of Glasgow writers write even if she was from a leafy suburb just outside. There is more unites than divides our city https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpiEA9VnQjo
Newspaper reporting that a Celtic player and high profile Celtic supporting playwright are involved in the Christmas lights switch on at hof Glasgow. I can't attend as at my own local lights switch on. St. Margaret's Hospice being mentioned as going to benefit in some way and this is a very worthy charity. However, not really sure about the organisation of this event and think it really would have been better to have both branches of the Old Firm represented. Another worthy charity is Nil by Mouth and is really what Glasgow should be all about these days imo. I speak as a Celtic supporter.
QE. When we crash out of the EU pies and cakes will be the only thing on the menu. No more smelly French cheese, Stodgy pasta and mouldy German sausages. Merry Christmas.
Well same here plus £7.00 and around £4.00 but I wouldn't bother your shirt now. Spent most of yesterday in different parts of Glasgow and the most noticeable thing in the city centre and elsewhere was the pristine brown Primark bags being toted so fully expect them to topple M & S as the UK's largest clothes seller before too long. Popped into HoF and lots of lights but not much jingling at the tills. Walked through the deserted lingerie section and the sales assistant did say hello but knew she was on a hiding to nothing as I was carrying a big Debenhams bag. The loos at the end of her section looked as though they hadn't seen a drop of Domestos in months! There was a big circle of painted faced staff getting some sort of briefing when I entered and they were still standing around when I left outnumbering the browsers it has to be said. Male staff member was very colourfully dressed in tartan jacket and I was going to ask where he had bought it as I like to buy my husband something every Christmas that I know he will never wear and take to the charity shops - well it gives us a laugh anyway. Was going to try on a black Barbour jacket with detachable mock fur hood but didn't have any hand sanitiser on me. I think Mr. Murray should speak to the cleaners. In the ladies loo at least what the Bearsden and Milngavie ladies who do sport in the Allander centre are looking for is some scents of Arran hand wash and hand cream though I'd settle for some Sannox myself. I hope I am not being hard on Mr. Murray. I have a top academic performer in my house and we could pass on the family business to her but I would like to see her go out independently and get a job of her own at least first when the time comes. Have a very merry Christmas moniman and don't eat too much black bun and mince pies.
Sir Tom Hunter just made a reasonable donation for this year. Anything to come from spd?
I was invested here and got out at 400p because looked like Mikey was planning something stupid. I would get back in again but will be in the 1's...GLA in the meantime.
On yer bike moniman. At least Pandic came on two bbs and put his or her money where their mouth was. Absolutely no time for posters full of bull on these bbs. Some of them don't even seem too sure when, where or if they are invested, shorting or just pontificating. Alex Brummer though one of the few commentators I pay any attention to. He's won awards.
Price crashes down through the 300p mark Queen...you should have read my post dated 1st October...286p today doesn't look good? Will MA let this drop further to start the buy back program again??? It appears to happen every year and it increases his percentage. GL. I'll wait till there's a 1 in front of the SP.
Oh well Pandic 2 posts but I suppose you have to start somewhere. At least spd is holding up for you today unlike pmo which is a share that lets you down as often as it sparkles - I speak from experience.
Did you read the Alex Brummer article on this company recently as part of your research. He spoke of what might not be but what looks like nepotism within spd to the wider market and made a lot of other good points.
With Mike not wishing to engage with shareholders, the only reason the company has not gone private yet in my view is that he is going to need the shares to offer to buy Debenhams because he can't afford to buy it with cash. Newcastle United well it could be sold but it is providing advertising for spd rather than a slick telly ad. But deb's are getting in on the 3 for 2 Christmas gifts market with bhs out the way and House of Fraser not what it was for people with a bit more cash for expensive scents and the like. Duty free not what it was either. I know we get the odd comment on here from Rachel's dad but debs isn't jjb - not by a long stretch of the imagination. Coming to hq hof in Glasgow was a mistake. after the Rangers fiasco. That's the last of the monologues on here from me so I'll leave it to you Pandic. It was actually a parody of the man who will only speak to one shareholder here. This isn't a share for investors. It has never offered a divi even in seemingly good times. Just a day trading share now so good luck with the £4.80 target .
Good luck with it Pandic. I guess I'm struggling to understand how spd plan to be the Harrods of the High Street when they couldn't even be the top of the sports retailers. I'm not convinced the HoF venture can be turned around and there isn't enough info to hand yet on which stores will be saved and which will close. I was going to go to Halfords for the electric bike but have decided to get it from a local independent store offering good pre sales advice and good after sales maintenance.
Bought Spd today, for a short term run up to 4.80...stock oversold and just bough a large chunk of cheap inventory...bad news all priced in....Buy when you can not when you have to
Good effective advertising from JD imo
Look I'm not a deramper like monkeyman but ffs what's going on here.
for Children in Need starts 8th November
Voted King of the unhealthiest High Streets https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-46070669
New Primark though could do well and a reversal of the cva hit list by HoF and apparently staying open in Grimbsy maybe the Head of Lifts is introducing veggie burgers. Thought spd had taken over Evans ladies outsizes from Philip Green but it was the bike shop which was well lit up in Bath Street around 5 last Sunday night. I'll take an interest free loan from the Scottish government and buy an electric bike in Evans if this company does something for Children in Need cycle appeal this year. It would enhance the company reputation no end just ask the new guy from Greggs. See if we have a deal or no deal but still time to do something nice and I get on my bike for Christmas.
I'll be watching to see if the Christmas lights go out early again this year in Buchanan Street HO HO HO.
Here's a decent script. Jack's dad sent him to the market in Glasgow to buy some magic beans but the Rangers supporters ate the magic when Jack was returning home to dad but they all lived happily ever after. Get the Sunday Times journalists to come up with a script like that.
Too risky now for me to look at again. French connection on the market? The founders of enrc were able to take it private for much less than the flotation price due to a similar low free float of shares to the one there is here. They offered a mix of a derisory cash sum for the company and shares in kaz which did pay off in the long run for anybody who waited for the copper price to rise but it would only be a cash offer from the founder for this and I wouldn't think it would be overly generous. Good luck though to holders.
You won't have to wait too much longer for your 310 entry point.. I think I'll wait for the 150p entry point just before MA takes it private imho.
