Just noticed Schroders plc crossed the 5% barrier.
How do you know it is a buy. Everywhere I've looked said unknown.
Sell 16.12
Buy 16.35 now
Yes great numbers in the results today, doubling year on year in many of the sectors sadly so was the loss doubling year on year , they did say they almost broke even in July, so the next results are key going forward and hopefully not anymore fund raising soon , some profit taking today I assume as it’s had an amazing run from it’s 5pm lows,, one to hold for me for now
The early morning highs evaporated.
just bought in. Already in on Boo and Nbrown Group.
That was a good trading statement. Yet to be seen if it can be the next Boohoo, though. I will be pumping more money in.
This is an excellent announcement. I see SOS enjoying a Boohoo like share price trajectory over the next 3 years.
I don’t see Quiz as a natural fit. SOS is well positioned, Amy link up with Quiz would be akin to having a ball and chain attached. I can see why Quiz would want it but from a SOS perspective, I wouldn’t see it as positive.
I admit that this may only be "flying a kite". BUT: Sosander is on-line only with a particular style & target market & with a Market Cap of some £32M. Quiz has a Cap of only some £8m. Both have cash in the bank. Quiz have dramatically reduced their store estate whilst retaining the gems in their portfolio. In so doing they have significantly increased the proportion of on-line sales. Quiz offerings target a different segment of the market than SOS, just slightly older & more middle class. Seems to be that this could be a marriage made in heaven.
Why would it be? Quiz Situation is quite complex by the look of it.
I wonder if a business combination of QUIZ & SOSANDER is in the wind?
Hopefully, the link up to John Lewis/Next will allow Sosandar to reach escape velocity but as a long term holder I retain a healthy scepticism given early promises didn't materialise.
Finally Back in the black.! After buying £800 at20p £95 at 5.5P( ha ha as you do )And £237 at 12.6 . I was holding my heads in my hands at 6p staring at a £600 loss now just a £100 up so my little lock down punts have redeemed me here,
Lots of interest on the boo hoo board ( recently bought back in at 222) , whilst this won’t hit the dizzy heights of boo hoo or asos , they are making head way slowly but surely with their presence in Next and John Lewis now they will be getting on more and more ladies radars which the share price is ( I hope ) responding too in a slow steady climb “ touch wood maybe the 30p mark again but good results required,
Will be interesting to see what the next update is like
All the directors have skin in the game, including the CFO which is a good sign.
This is weird- good but weird...
It’s got to be beneficial to have access to those two significant markets, and who knows maybe a shop floor space deal might follow - at least with JL. I’d think JL desperately need to create new interests just to keep relevant to the important woman shopper - so a favourable deal might be possible. Meanwhile SOS is well placed for the current times.
Thanks for clarifying that for me.
I still feel that the link up is positive though.
It adds credibility and as shoppers shift to online sales we will see IMO a significant number purchase via JL and Next initially and then with confidence move to SOS direct.
I'd be very surprised if SOS hit the Boo heights over the next few years. It needs to get into acquisitions.
Looks like someone is steadily acquiring, which is having an obvious effect on the sp. Mustn’t grumble...
The arrangement with JL and Next is initially for the inclusion of (some of) Sosandar’s Autumn/Winter product range on their online platforms. It does not incorporate a high street presence in their stores.
I’ve dipped in and out of Sos over the last year.
For me the real potential of the link up with John Lewis and Next isn’t the direct sales from their shops. Don’t get me wrong, these will add to the bottom line which is fine.
The sparkle for me is the new customers that will be attracted by the high street presence.
Ladies can learn about and experience the brand, see the quality and try out the sizing without risking the inconvenience of a mail return.
From there repeat business is as likely to come direct to SOS as they will know their sizes which will lead to more rapid expansion.
The BOD seem to have us well placed at the right time to get the expose we need.
Got to be more value than the expensive TV campaign. And IMO will be more effective.
I’m back in again.
This is a growth company or nothing. Normal rules do not apply. Look at BooHoo's exponential growth. The hope is that SOS can do the same for the non twenty something age range.
SOS sp looking quite resilient given the general market volatility. Nice to see. Will be very interesting to see how the widened potential customer base, via the relationship with JL and Next, works out.
