its every exploreres dream to find a resource and become a producer - why would any explorer want to remain one - constantly at the whims of markets and fundraising or lack of - always looking over your shoulders for your next fundraise.
Its a natural progression - especially once you've made a discovery - to aim to produce or at least link up with a producer and have a remaining carrying stake.....
All in me novice opinion..........
BNc - yes Blanca would have been the ideal solution and that was the glistening "going for gold" promise wasn't it. Then we've had a year's worth of radio silence on that, other than the odd "complicated" reference.
Personally folks I'd like Blanca up n running asap - smaller with potentially v good easy to get at gold etc - [if artisinal miners can get at the gold by hand shovels n pick axes then surely its a winner n cheap to sort no?]
Hie RICH3R - right ho re charts - I'll see if I can see what ur lookin at

This is what I just don't get...the best possible takover defence is to get the share price up - it's not rocket science is it.
Get that result at the drill bit, sit back and relax. If the share price is rocketing, there's no way NM's going to get voted out. Zero chance. All immediate problems are solved.
Miagi.... deep down, I believe you are correct regarding the effect decent Porvenir results will have.
hi DBW I was just standing up for frustrated posters --of which i'm one! The current share price really is a disgrace imho. Let us all hope that things come good this Autumn
This was the corporate strategy.... lifted directly from the annual reports of 2014, 15 and 16...
. The Company’s corporate strategy is to:
• Create substantial wealth for its shareholders by exploring, discovering and defining large inventories of, but not limited to, copper and gold metal.
• Primarily focus on copper and gold, taking up the growth potential and increasing global demands.
• Target regions with world class deposits.
• Target grass roots level exploration opportunities to enable low cost entry into projects.
• Focus on disciplined and systematic approach to exploration.
• Maximise shareholder funds on “in the ground” exploration expenditure as a proportion of the total budget in order to generate high-quality results.
• Secure additional exploration projects by the application for new tenements and/or farm-in style agreements.
• Undertake an on-going review of potentially ‘value accretive’ opportunities that are presented to the company from time to time.
• Respect the communities and environment in which we operate.
• Maintain a strong focus on Health and Safety for our employees and contractors.
By 2018, that strategy changed to.....
. Our vision is to become a leading copper and gold miner underpinned by our exceptional portfolio of project options.
Exploration – utilise our highly experienced team and our first mover advantage in Ecuador to identity multiple potential world-class copper and/or gold deposits.
I guess my main gripe is that shift of focus.... I don’t buy into it. How much input did we the shareholders have into that fundamental shift from explorer to miner?
Tos, a hit at Porvenir will change this back to an exploration company. The share price is currently languishing through the studies phase with Alpala - obviously there is the very real probability of it being taken over in the short/medium term to buoy it. But, the point is that if we can move sentiment back into the first flush of discovery, the share price can go bananas - get a hit at Porvenir and people can start to say, well all this talk about the regionals is actually coming true - how many of these babies have we got? How big are they? Is Porvenir our jackpot Escondida?
Everyone here is OK with me and so I'm i, copperpot il take a long break and come back here in 13 hours time, lol
Rich , don’t think anyone has at any point suggested L2 stops posting , he has plenty to offer ...., who are you referring to ?
L2, take a break from this board matey. I promise you, you will feel much better. Every investor gets the owld investor fatigue at some point.
L2 , no bullying here mate , I know your invested and frustrated, just see it differently.
We will , I’m sure team up with someone at some point whether JV or financing or buyout .... NM simply doing it on his terms , he’s been around the block and knows every trick in the book ..... really not long to wait until we know definitively which path he intends to take
Dream, look, simply put, the amount of resources we have in the ground and plus another 13 site to explore is just too much for solg management to handle, you need financial fire power, i know we are not in production but we should have a decent share price , in countries like this we need to team up with the big boys
Miagi... I sincerely hope you are correct, that decent drill results will at last shift the SP closer to where it should be by now. However the longer it drags on, the more I fear a less than satisfactory reaction from the market. If they don’t believe he can take one major resource to production, they’re gonna struggle to believe he can do two. I know that makes no sense from a true value of resource perspective.... but neither does today’s SP. And heaven forbid the drill results are poor. We’ll be crucified.
hi L2 i totally get you, don't let the bullies on this board stop you posting !
I remain steadfast in my opinion that a strong hit a Porvenir will solve all of the share price woes. It is utterly ridiculous how long it is taking. Other companies are churning out drill results left right and centre...what do we get? "Mobilising" for months, and that's a good 6 (non-covid) months after the full permits were issued. What on earth is going on with the drilling NM?! I cannot fathom it, really.
Is it:
1) NM's deep dark strategy rearing it's ugly head again, about which we often have been kept in the dark? i.e. the drilling is being purposely held back by the company. Preserving funds?
or
2) Is it being held back by more red tape? Hard to believe - we had the permits. Just how much quarantining is needed for a small drilling team?
Come on. Time for an update on that with some meat on the bone.

I know from close sources Nick is hard to work for which is why Anna left.
However don’t lose faith mate.
Our Nick will deliver make no mistake.
Every man HAS A PRICE.
Nick will not sell us short.
I know it you know it but the price has got you irritated.
We are all gonna be very very rich by year end .
Trust me on this L2.
Q
L2 simply sell if that’s how you see it , our views differ ( which is healthy) but the times they are a changing ..... days like today are an irritation admittedly, but mean **** all in the grand scheme of things.
By saying “I’m getting on a bit and probably not up to taking this to production “ do you really think he’d have been doing right by he shareholders?
dream its true, no one in their right mind would take this company into production without someone like bhp etc, and then this stupid standstill agreement
His pigheadedness is exactly what will make you money if you are capable of just seeing the bigger picture.... jeez
L2.... I hear you. Perhaps I wouldn’t be as vehement in my condemnation of him, but my patience has long since expired. Despite consistent promises over the years to provide fair value for investors, and, more importantly, exit points along the way, he has as you say marched the SP all the way down from 40 to 25p, and seems completely at a loss how to rectify this. Positively engage with your major stakeholders. The market has been screaming at him for an eternity now that it does not buy in to the take it to production line. He is pigheadedly refusing to listen. Anyone in his position who doesn’t heed the market and the stakeholders soon has to make way for someone who will.
Shocking post L2 ..... maybe you’re in the wrong share ?
Value of this company compare to the vast amount of resources we have is a total disgrace! I think nick needs to go and retire in France, this company needs a partner like bhp instead this buffoon trying to take it into production himself , the standstill agreement with bhp is another disgrace, we fed him his family and friends bread and butter and made them millionaires and what did he do for us? Let's be Frank, fffff all, from 45p a share to 26p man don't realise his getting old and tired, greedy b8stard, ok I'm done
When is this share going to deliver ?
Hopefully soon !
