Is that the same IPCC that stated in the late 70's/early 80's that the average temperature of the planet was 15 degrees Centigrade and that MMGW would push the temperature up by at least half a degree by the year 2000. It dropped to 14.62 and it took them 8 years of manipulation before stating that the average was actually 14 and not 15, to enable it to look like the temperature increased by 0.62.
Q, regardless of the need for emission reduction, I'm simply referring to the reality. We will not be able to achieve it in the timeline imposed by government - it's ludicrous and will eventually be adjusted. As it stands, nothing on god's earth would persuade me to buy an electric vehicle at the moment.
As for China and the rest...they couldn't give a flying f..k and must look at the West and roar with laughter.
We'll get there eventually, but not for a very long time.
They're doing all of it to drive inflation chaps - I grew up in the 1970s - got the t-shirt ...
Sorry addicknt that's not true, I am someone who follows green issues and legislation around the world. The IPCC are setting climate change targets for all those signed up to them.
For which the UK is a signatory.
The ban on petrol and diesel engines by 2030 and hybrids by 2035 is based on calculations required to meet our 2035 target's. We are also looking at gas boiler regulation and although airline's are exempt from the calculation at the moment. This may be included by 2040 to meet the 2050 hard target.
This is going to be tough, but the UK are making progress unlike some of the world's heavy polluters.
I see much more weight being attached to carbon trading by 2030 making costs for China and India and the USA much higher.
bonker99, and this is one of the reasons the utterly absurd ban on petrol vehicles from 2030 won't work. It was a totally arbitrary date pulled out of the hat by useless politicians who appear to have taken no account of what would actually be required to make this achievable.
We are living in an age where it's blindingly obvious that politicians around the world are simply very, very low quality individuals. For christ's sake, look at this country - we can't even build one battery manufacturer, let alone the many which are required.
At some stage the morons in Westminster will wake up and push the date back. By the way, did any of us actually vote for this ban? If we did I must have missed it.
Have a good day all.
Gym time.

"Global shortages of the copper could reach 8M tonnes by 2032....
The rate of supply increases required, is equivalent to building eight copper mines the size of Escondida, the largest in the world, per year, for the next eight years. That’s insane."
When you're ready to be 'friends' just give me a little nudge. Cheers.
Ps " when the tide goes out we can see who's not wearing any shorts" hence you'll see who's really got the dosh when the opportunity comes up.
Oh dear 10 green worms and not even 7.30, Whats the saying "empty vessels make the most noise" lolzz
Desperation comes to mind, I'll leave you to entertain yourself today tinyray I'm only interested in serious LTH not fly by night chancers/liars xxx
No idea where you got 40k losses from sounds like wishful thinking mate. Traded 20k at average £305 - sold them at a loss £2.66 and traded some more.
Anyway wishing lots of wealth.
be*
Oh come on novice let's me friends lol
When you've made a fortune losing a few thousand here or there makes the losses very easy. Has for the listing its irrelevant at this point.
Oh dear a sea of green lolzzz, Tinyray clearly trying to justify their existence lolzzz, clearly took my advice and had an early night :))xxx mind the gap buddy
You sound terribly defensive about your investment in Poly, which is hardly surprising given you must have dropped about 40k on your trades since the start of the week. Mind you, to a man of your vast wealth, that's a mere drop in the ocean. Anyway, never mind, I'm sure everything will be fine and dandy as soon as it trades on the well known Astana stock market. And don't worry, Kazakhstan isn't the most corrupt country in the World...it's only seventh in the global league table.
Ps.
Hoping poly hits £1.20 again that would be fantastic.
Have a nice day.
MR
One last thing adiick, just for a little balance - I traded poly quite a bit and posted up a few 57k sales on a few occasions on the way up. Feb last year poly was @ £1.20 when I more or less went in - same time solg hit 37p - yesterday poly £2.20 - solg 16p.... I'm very happy with that indeed and clearly you can't be.
On another note I recon you guys will have your moment and I hope I can tag along for the ride. Just don't want to pay 16p for 200k worth.
BTW, got a bit excited yesterday and there's no way I would place an order that size and leave it for it to be dealt on bad news. Not sure what's going to happen here, to say anyone does is really foolish. Keeping my eyes peeled for a steal.
GLA
Question*
Oh come on addict its absolutely fine. Queation for you what do you think my chances are picking up 1.7m here at 12p?
Think I deserve a holiday.
Good luck lovelies
:)
Morning novice.
MR always stressed the importance of taking profits just before news.
Preparedness.
