Hi Bunsie,
I’ve spent 8 yrs building a holding , I never intended to hold as many as I do but as the science got better and better and the sp kept falling (because of delays and funding etc) , it just seemed a no brainier for me , had the science failed in some manner I would have changed tack but because it hasn’t I’ve kept buying !
I felt that eventually we would have our day and more recently it seems big Pharma have been coming around to our way of thinking So for me it just seemed inevitable and Just a matter of time !
I’m not a trader by heart but if I think there is an opportunity then I will , and like Ruck , i only tend to trade 5-10 % at anyone time so Plenty left .
The danger is that the downs are small but the upside has the potential to be huge , only making an extra 1k shares ( nice as it is ) hardly seems worth it ! I expected a larger drop today and was looking for a smaller spread but it never appeared while I was around .
I am sure we will do very well .
Hi Cars,
I am not brave enough to try that, so hanging on to my holding for the end game, all nicely tucked up in ISA's
As you say horses for courses!

Bunsie
Well, Cars that is what makes a market.... that there are so many trades here daily now is great to say the interest has returned it was not too long ago when we had days of not a single trade... Also though now we are attracting traders... I reckon a few of those may well also be buying in and not selling completely out on a gain... stake builders as any one who does even 5 mins research or watches the proactive vid knows this share has legs and is poised to leap at any moment.
Ruck / crumbs ,
Scancell have a habit of releasing news at 7am but of course that can’t be taken as gospel, so am happy to take a little flutter is I think there is an opportunity, sometimes we win sometimes we lose but on the whole it’s been ok .
For me - if I have trading pot of 50 or 100k shares and news drops and doubles (as you say Ruck ) then any gain I have made could in effect be lost ( if my trading pot is out ) however if I am fully loaded at the end of each day and a cracker of an RNS lands at 7am then I’ve maximised my earnings , plan does not work if a midday RNS drops tho !
It’s all horses for courses but I totally agree with what you say and what Inanaco has said for years “ it’s all about the number you hold ! “
That Tick tock is deafening right now ! ( LTH’s joke of sorts )
WTP indeed! I'm not even sure I'd trade after say the first MaB deal RNS... as well there could be at least 2 more of the same on the way after those, plus... BioNTech TCR that can appear anytime... and more funds to Covidity or a pharma partner coming in on it and modi1 gets a partner for its trial... and.... well there are just so many potentials lol.... So my mindset is if it drops below my average I'm back to nibbling but whilst it is above I'll just enjoy the ride as I'm happy that my 250k could one day make enough for an early retirement all going well :)
Crumbs thanks for that - I think everyone is surprised by the rise with no news and no Very Large Trades.
As others have pointed out, I'm "clueless", but 2 days of extended trading times and an auction in the middle of the day leads me to believe that there was a Very Large Trade in the offing which is now put on hold.
Yeah like I say fair enough I would trade some of mine too but not at the moment as it's taken me long enough to get the 250k I have lol and I'd like to keep that amount now, it is one of those psychological things.....maybe if it was 255k i'd be trading the 5k and feel fine with that risk :) ...
Crumbs, I'm thinking the same as you. Yes it seems prudent to top slice but the risk of being out if/when next RNS arrives isn't worth it, or should i say it outweighs the benefits of short term profit taking...wll for me (and you) anyway. Especially as we think news is expected and soon.
As mentioned, there could be a volley of multiple RNS's close to each other too perhaps?
Crumbs,
Yes, I didn’t highlight Cars last line:
“ Too much potential price positive news due to be out ! IMO .”
I agree which is why I hold tight to 90% of my holding. If I double 90%, I will still be very happy.
That is why I have not bothered trading any as this moment in time I feel the risk is too high for me as the RNS of a deal would pop up the moment a sold some to trade lol... but well done to all who are having success ...I more focus my mind on I wonder what position we may be this time next year... I was surprised at this rise we have had not as I think it is undeserved or that the market ought to wake up to the potential here but to my mind I felt it would not wake up until a deal was done and only then might we have seen a big rise.... bodes well for when positive newsflow does hit though..... the redmile effect seems to have attracted the renewed interest here and I suppose the Covidity funding too....
And another thing...
Historically, big swings up and down have preceded news. I wouldn’t be surprised if an RNS dropped tomorrow. If there is, could someone wake me up?
Oh, and I persuaded my wife (who is the most risk averse person you could meet) to invest a small amount. She now has all her investment back and sat on a few “freebies”
Cars,
Am using the same tactic (or Tik Tak). I am trading a few (about 10% of my pot). I’m not interested in making a few quid, only in accumulating shares. I managed to get 5k a couple of weeks ago and 4K today costing me nothing. If this hits £1 that’s £9k for nothing. It’s all about the number you hold and with the OO, the “extras” and a bit of trading I hold a lot more than I did six weeks ago.
Change of tactics for me , I have a Small trading pot and fair holding but my trading pot is now In . I will just day trade if I see a opportunity, sold 50k this morning and just bought back 51k ! Only a small gain but 1k more than I had .
Too much potential price positive news due to be out ! IMO .
Bojo,
“Each to their own Tic Tacs of course”
Yes, we should all end up minted.
Took the opportunity to top up earlier.
I've been kicking myself that I hadn't bought a lot more after a 14% allocation from the o/o so nice to take advantage of a dip in the recent surge.
GLA
Thank you Ray
Glad you found that because it means I haven't lost my marbles, Yet........ : )

Hi Chester
https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/SCLP/proposed-capital-raise-1enlhyfpz9m8ehn.html
"Advanced commercial discussions are currently underway with a global biotech with initial commercial collaboration potentially to be in the form of granting a partner an option to a future licence."

Hi WTP
The initial announcement in September 2019 said :
"We are pleased to be able to report significant progress on our monoclonal antibody pipeline, having only licensed the technology into the company just over a year ago from the University of Nottingham. Our first collaboration and evaluation agreement with one of the major players in the antibody development field is a significant achievement in such a short period of time and we believe our novel AvidiMab™ enhanced cell killing platform has broad partnering potential."
So that said 'Major Player' but somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind ( some would say the shallows ) I think they were referred to as a 'Global' company. It may just be me 'Miss-Remembering' like they do in US politics but it may have been said in an interview, if someone else recalls it would help get the facts right.
Chester.
no problem Bojo
Sorry Stakis, iPhone autocorrect:-)
Stalin’s,
I have added 10k shares today. Wanted to get my daughter a portfolio started and nowhere seemed better than Scancell at a discount!
I will add more if we drift to 12p. Or on the other hand, hitting 20p would encourage me to double my holding. Let’s see :-)
Each to their own Tic Tacs of course. I don’t deny anyone the chance to take some profit, surely they will have earned it. Only way is up here.
@Chester18 - was it the global player/pharma who were the first to sign up for the Mabs last year? I.e. will they "likely" be the first to deal/partner? Can't remember the order.
Bound to happen ...
The SP has risen on a change of sentiment, rumour and a modicum of publicity.
This has probably attracted traders who see Scancell as the perfect vehicle to sell into the recent rise and buy on any subsequent dips. The rise to 18p was great news but wasn't sustainable on its own.
Once our much awaited deal done news happens this rise can be seen as establishing a good base to move forwards from.
Our first deal could be quite modest, someone quite ( Crumbs or Ivy I think ) rightly pointed out that the size of the first deal is not as important as actually getting that first deal across the line. Once we have signed up a global player it will cause plenty of real interest in what our Mabs can offer many more companies in the Antibodies space.
Chester.
Bojo agree - do you think a 10% drop is considerable enough though? :)
