Dr. Davey Smith, chief of infectious diseases and global public health at the University of California (UC), San Diego, says: "At this time there are no known benefits for taking CBD over the counter. CBD is this generation's snake oil, where millions are engaging with the product without evidence of any benefit."
Long term gambling, and not investing. I concur.
However, Doctor(medical) pals say no way any Govt is going to endorse this game as they don’t want the blame for another Thalidomide scenario, which was dreadful for all concerned. It takes a lot of guts to OK such a product without extensive research and testing which hasn’t been done yet. A 10 year punt.....a one trick pony !
It sounds like you know all about the endocannabanoid system in your body, and anandamide, that your body produces and how CBD interacts with that? These arent hippy claims, do some research and come back with any questions. You have cannabanoids in your body right now.
Granted, there needs to be much more research, and its really expensive at the moment, but once the south african and south american harvests kick in this year/next year the costs should drop (and once a lot of CBD compaines go bust)
Sativa isnt a CBD company though... thats just one operating company. admittedly their recent news isnt great, and its very early in the UK sector, but it isnt going anywhere and they are well placed to capitalise, it will be very tightly regulated in the UK and if they play their cards right they end up one of a chosen few, and it is that that will be valuable.
My view is to sit back and watch what happens dip in and out over the next few years and try and time it right. this is long term gambling not investing
I know people who have bought this stuff, and they both say “It’s a con!” Pay £80 for a tiny jar - like a miniature marmalade pot you get on your table at hotels abroad...!
Even the press referred to it as Snake Oil...
Nothing proven, nothing trusted.
The whole business is a con...all IMO, of course.
New Trading update announcement posted just now on their website. Seems positive. They expect to show gross profit in full year results... www.sativagroup.co.uk/announcements
CBD is not snake oil, but it is expensive, and the british public is still very wary.
This is the long game, not a quick flip on CBD... They are (the only listed) company that are really building the foundations to be the ones to capitalise on the changes to the legal framework surrounding cannabis in the UK.
The share price of this company will be up and down like a yoyo over the next 5-10 years.
It's working again. Just been on it.
Their website is currently inaccessible...
Just spoke to lady at sati who says a formal response is being put together for release in the next possible 48 hours
Because it’s ‘Snake Oil’, and always has been.
Stupid expensive, driven by ‘magic ‘healing properties, which the medical profession regard as fake and dangerous.
Mugs are born every day!
I would imagine some people connected have made plenty of money from the share price volatility since the company was launched. I see nothing positive now if the first mover advantage which was always highlighted counts for very little.
Agree. This Company also operates in a Sector that the Government is actively progressing, as per the Health Ministers interview on BBC this morning.
I contacted Sativa a couple of weeks ago to query the continual decline in the SP. The response was non committal.
Basis the fact that my 31/01/20 Buy is still showing as a Sell alongside this sharp, illogical decline in the SATI SP, I will be contacting the FCA.
I don’t get why this is sinking after the positive distribution news?
im all in with zoetic (zoe) so obviously watching similar companies
Interesting that my Buy on Friday is showing as a Sell.
Totally agree Golongalways, the close links with the home office, kings college London and the scientific advisory board members I feel gives the company a great advantage. It's a wild west out there a brand new industry with many spin offs from CBD, prescription marijuana and eventually the real money maker legalised marijuana (distant future). We are in a unique position to grow or even be taken over each would bring big returns. However is it still a massive risk? Yes. Have I invested more than I can afford to lose? No. GLA.
sativa isn’t aiming at being a 1 trick pony and relying only on revenue from CBD,
the CBd market at the moment is riddled with poor quality CBD products and manufacturing,
unfortunately theses companies are taking a share of the profits.
Overtime as more government regulation and public awareness comes to light , these poor quality companies will die out, leaving companies like sativa with a greater market share , profit!
I personally think sativa has the team behind them to ride this small storm , regarding CBD .
Also next earnings will hopefully show Phytovista labs creating more revenue, hopefully more news on admission to the aim market , kings college research , Tessellate Collective, good body wellness franchise roll out etc.
Companies like sativa are always a riskier option ,I think it’s got a great team behind them that are looking to future and diversifying well, hold hold !
I’m genuinely worried this could go under but don’t want to sell at loss. CBD is the money maker in uk but it doesn’t seem to be catching on as quickly as in the US. Plus Sativa CBD isn’t in H&B Boots or supermarkets yet. Just online and there little shops unless I’m mistaken ???
Is it March the company releases its end of year results?
On the risk scale, this was always a 10. Anyone buying was speculating and hopefully using money they could afford to lose,
Sativa's SP dropping significantly. Thoughts people?
Share price seems to be in free fall recently. Are the rats leaving the sinking ship or just a lull til some positive news?
