Just picking up on the rights issue questions, nothing has been agreed to date, only a proposal to raise £775 capital through a rights issue. All the detail is yet to be agreed. I think Mr Hester will sell off all business streams that are not meeting expectations or are unlikely to fullfill expectations and will focus on the more profitable business streams (overseas operations). In the short term this should help the SP, however the looming rights issue will be on everyones mind. Hopefully the pending RI has already been factored in and with reoriganisation in full flow we will see a slow but steady rise. I'm confident were over the worse, barring fraud or more natural disasters. Hopefully im right, however I am tempted to jump ship and chase something more exciting! Good luck to all RSA holders
at least the derampers on this bb are funny. Chris tells us he sold for a tidy profit but how did he manage to buy in the first place ? since he thinks they are only worth 60 p another guy just closed his short ONLY cos he got bored with it. Now he expects the sp to be pumped up to 100p- would be 105 if Bof A did their bit! So 2 good analyst forecasts to act on. Either 60p or 100p
I read somewhere the rights issue will be voted on in the May AGM. This is going to be a drag.
No. Nothing announced as yet, only what was proposed in the 2013 results.
does anyone know if the timetable for the planned rights issue has been released yet, cant find any mention of it on the RSA website.
Long time holder as I said, left a few K in but cashed out most of my RSA shares the other day at a very slight profit. Topped up heavily on WSG as I am confident the contract will land next week. I will have a look at the RSA rights issue and see where I want to go from there. GLA.
I am out of patience and covered my shorts. Also, I needed the money for something else. By the time this is pumped back to 100, my money should be free again to take another round of shorts. I am no longer optimistic bank of america would be capable of pumping this to 105. So I have lowered my short entry at 100.
No sun for the queen today. atb
just over £1 from £2.09 is a downgrade not a reiteration !!!!
So this share will be going in consoladation aswell as r.i?
How very nice to see you here. What's all this talk about a RI? You can count me in for my share as I'm sitting on a load of VOD money I want to re-invest somewhere. In all my years of investing I can't remember a single RI I've been involved in that didn't make money, maybe not quick enough for the in-out merchants, but they've boosted my p/f very nicely thank you. Pleased to see you've been enjoying this sun, it's been lovely down here of late, the lawn is almost dry enough for its first cut of the year. ATB.
The trend's your friend until it's not. Look at the supermarket wars at the moment. One or more of them will stop falling at some point but who knows what that point is with any degree of certainty. Same with shares at or near a high point. Despite all looking good, folk get scared to buy or buy more beyond a certain point.
There's no need to trust anyone, any directors, or any brokers. One can always trust the price. When it's on a down trend, sell. When it's on an up trend, buy.
Right chaps and chapesses wasn't there another director buy here yesterday went uncommented upon. This Holiday Williams guy who sold some shares is leaving rsa to take up a post elsewhere and was the other who sold not selling off some options which he probably regards as part of his remuneration package. I seem to remember some poster going on ad nauseum on this bb about director's taking up options to buy being of no significance whatsoever. Broker targets for what they are worth sitting above the current share price and been in touch with the company and the broker as I don't trust folk on these bbs. Toodle pip.
I hope the tidy profit made up for the small loss you declared here earlier though I thought you said you wouldn't be buying here for a while.
Can't see it going to 60p. The consolidation means 60p becomes £3. All the 'investors' will be jumping on it thinking there must have been a huge rally.
Had the broker letter today 5 for 1 share consolidation and rights issue subject to approval at the AGM on 9th May. Not sure why there hasnt been an RNS on the share consolidation or did I miss it?
Perhaps a wait and see game, for me somewhere below 85p, together with some forward looking statement regarding re-instating the divi, slashing costs x-000 heads will role sort of message. http://www.fool.co.uk/investing/2014/03/04/why-rsa-insurance-group-plcs-growth-prospects-have-taken-a-hit/
Hi im thinking of investing in this, waiting for the RI to come but will look at investing a small amount as I think this share will be stable after RI what are ppl thoughts?
you got the wrong way round. shares are weaker if anything between a ri being announced and concluded.
If you say so then that'll be right. I'm holding free shares here so not all that bothered. The only reason I posted today was because somebody was referring to director sells and trying to deduce something from that without having drawn any conclusions from recent director buys. And as the sun has got his hat on here, I'm off to drink it in. Looks like Spring has sprung.
You will surely become a monkey once the support for the price is withdrawn after the rights issue is concluded. The target for my short is 90, not too hard to achieve.
if I had been predicting and willing this share price to fall to the seventies for weeks on end, I would consider myself a complete monkey and you wouldn't see me on here for dust. Some people are not easily embarrassed though.
right now just a gamble but in my `umble opinion one worth doing, and anyone who claims to KNOW especially the shorters lol can be safely ignored. Someone talked of dead money. once the dust has settled after the ri , in 3 or 4 months time ?10% profit should bnot be hard- or keep ur money in the bank for 10 years..
What about the other recent director deals?
