Hopefully 25 mins to climb back up to about 430 i reckon adn then 5pm announcements for elections, wonder if the smr might help rr as wouldnt want the big prize for smr work and handed to labour as they would take the glory. wonder if that gets pushed through this before elections
If they announce an election they go straight to purdah and nothing gets signed off, as I understand it.
One of starmers 6 pledges is clean British energy
What you shou be asking yourself is where is Mr Starmer getting the money from ,after all this is the Tax loving Labour Party we are talking about Beware !
****nal
i can’t believe that someone who is a touch monetary savvy is making a comment on labour and taxes .. you don’t have to do too much digging to find out that the working classes are being taxed more than ever before and they’ve only started begrudgingly reducing bi because of a looming election.. just a lazy throw away daily mail comment.. look around you .. since brexit every service in this country is dire .. labour can’t do much worse than these clowns.. and i will also put my neck on the line and say they won’t be has corrupt as these torys

So we should listen to you then?
Thanks for your advice, but no thanks.
Like putting your trust in Liz Truss and Kwasi
Of course Your entitled to your opinion but I’m afraid past history tells us what will happen when Labourgets in but I agree this government has been a shambles
Transmission I’m not giving advice not where politics are involved it’s my opinion just like yours ,we will wait and see
At the end of the day SMR is for the moment a decision that’s out of anyone’s hands. We’ll be awaiting a mini budget in either July / August if labour wins and September if the Tories manage a hung parliament.
The selection stage (June) is I suspect independent of politics, the decision making body GBN are going to continue, their remit is to select 2 candidates to go forward with, that will take them into a deeper technical assessment before then (in 2+ years) start to think about locations and contracts. IMHO
SMR is in Labour's "Great British Energy Plan"...
"Get new nuclear projects at Hinkley and Sizewell over the line, extending the lifetime of existing plants, and backing new nuclear including Small Modular Reactors."
There may be a delay with a change of Government - but I don't forsee Labour cancelling the SMR project. I'd like to think RR have a better chance of getting more of the contract under Labour.

I agree Casualtrader - I don't see Purdah stopping the process - The process is already costed and accounted for and is apolitical - if the Tories had any sense they would ensure RR get the lions share of the contract so they can brag about how much they support British jobs etc, etc, etc...

Agree, it's politically a win win for any side and process will roll on, it doesn't at this stage attract an overly large investment.
From RR. market perspective, just remaining in the process incrementally reduces uncertainty and creates potential value that will contribute to price (as it does today) to whatever extent
