Igspop Good for you mate and nice to hear a real person who works hard and appreciates the scenario the company was in ,it’s a shame about your pension but I’m sure you will agree it is not affordable but you are realistic something people in the civil service and local authorities Don’t ?They need to get in the Real world .Good Luck 👍👍
Massive difference in shares being bought and sold today
lol really !!!
Accipiter, we've been set up, lucky to not already have power outages the last few years, you need reliable baseload, no getting round that unless you spend extraordinary sums of money on battery storage. I think plenty in the rest of Europe realise this, our government not so much or they care even less. The only financially viable baseload if you are not going to burn fossil fuels is nuclear.
I totally agree with you Ramderby that it should be left to sort it self out and won't affect the share price.
Working for RR subs I am one of the unlucky one's who has been affected by the stopping of the final salary pension and worked all through covid, whilst most of RR was furloughed, It felt like a kick in the teeth but also needed to keep the company afloat
Totally believe for the future of the company going forward and what it may become
Are you the NTC that had cat flu a few days ago?
If so you should rest up for a few days with a good supply of catnip soup and a nice clean litter tray.
Re silence of Turbo I think he must be holding on for the AGM to give us some good news .
Also Dishi Rishi could be holding back until closer to election day to announce good RR deals.Anyone that stops the rollour of those hideous windmills will get my vote All they guarantee is wrecking the countryside and killing more birds than NTC and his mates.
Good Luck all

Sorry, Nettles, Not tonight the SP 500 is down at 5025 compared with a high of 5260 on April 30 so we think we are in a temporary pullback mode depending on real earnings being delivered.
If this went Nasdaq we be there already $$$, can we do what Lloyds do and duel list?
Probably would be the only real long term good thing to hit Nasdaq.
Please Boardroom
S&P 500 and Dow Jones tanked tonight at the close, both down circa minus 1.5% ???
Well worth a read in the context of energy supplies and the real way forward without China.

NuckyT, I agree 100%, I'm in at an average of 89.77p.
Yep £7 will be nice but I'll still hold.
I worked at Rolls Royce for 25 years. The unions are quite strong there and have worked for great T&C's for generations. I remember that strike action is often called for but in my 25 year experience it never once actually came to that. It's the usual cut and thrust of healthy negotiations. Nothing to worry about from an investors perspective. £7 Feb 25 👍😀
Cev, I love RR, I’m an absolute RR champion. RR pulled me out the hole I was in after Covid to effect on the stock market. I’m 35% in here and intend to stay for the magic £7. SMR was the main reason I invested in here back in 2020/21 at £1.27. If anyone in the world can make SMR work I believe RR are the ones to do it. If the British can’t do SMR then it can’t be done anywhere IMO. It was only a suggestion today!
I'm a very positive fella tbh I just think we should leave RR inner politics to RR unless this is a nationwide industrial action the SP will not be effected!
A lot of people who are still at RR had their retirements snatched away during Covid I don't believe workers should be criticised for trying to level this up! While us fortunate ones on here profit off their good work just an opinion
NuckyT, if you read this thread, you'll see that most long-term Rolls-Royce investors see SMR's as the icing on the cake and are not solely the reason we're invested here.
Do you honestly believe any government would go 100% in any form of energy production.
So no Rolls-Royce 100% guarantees!.
Do I expect sone SMR order for the UK, yes, but you do know how long any SMR orders will take to feed through to the bottom line?
What's your interest here?
Are you an investor?
A bull or a bear, shorting or going long?
Or simply asking questions from a negative perspective?
Ramderby, so are you shorting Rolls-Royce?
Should I liquidate my holding tomorrow?
Is the Aussie sub deal under threat?
Wow, you are a a half full guy, but seriously, this thread is full of very experienced Rolls-Royce investors so a deramp is going to be difficult.
Has anybody had experiance with using this site as I do not think what I am told is true ?
Massive difference in shares being bought and sold today. Massively in favour of buys yet price drops a little .
National Grid Live tells you all you need to know regarding generation in the UK. All I expressed was an opinion that maybe RR SMR might not be the preferred method of generation… then again maybe it is? Was only a suggestion however looks like different suggestions are not allowed on this forum, unless certain people approve. Very uptight board these days but no need to worry, SP is still strong! Wakeboarder, I won’t take it personally being called a thicko from someone who doesn’t know whether it’s there or their as a collective.
Jakeyork, I was not only speaking about the UK, Germany has gone back to coal, the US still burns coal and diesel for electricity, it's a global BS from BS governments.
