Hi DamayHill, the pension deficit is now around the £50 million level. Frightening at first glance but taken over many years it's pretty much a non event. I think a transfer of the pension to LGEN or PHNX would alleviate most concerns and should be viewed as possible. See Steve's comment earlier today and see what you think.
Thanks chasbrown, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Any concerns about the pension deficit and have there been many communications about how and over what period they are seeking to address this, as clearly this would be a big factor for any potential suitor?
This morning I would have said to wait for a pull back in sp which has now appeared this afternoon! I'm not aware of any news to cause the drop so maybe wait until Monday to buy in case anything comes to light after hours. Renold is a well run outfit and any news on resumption of dividend next month should provide a further boost. Imo it is worth holding for future growth and takeover potential.

Interest rates staying higher for longer causing whole market to take a step back and some profit taking.
this stock is still very under valued and will be in the 80p range by xmas.
been following this stock since 2019 watching and learning all the way.
opportunities like this do not come very often fill your boots on this dip .
results out 17/july. enjoy the ride.
The price has dropped 8% in the past half an hour. This appears from what I can see to be based on no news, however whenever something drops around 2pm I always assume it is in some way linked to something happening over the pond in the US. Is anyone aware of any data or earnings releases to drive this kind of swift decline?
Looking to potentially add this to my portfolio. Have read a number of RNS's, particularly more recent ones, but would be grateful for a balanced synopsis from somebody who has been keeping eyes on this for longer. What are the key pros and cons? What are the key upcoming events to be aware of? Has recent strong growth in share price eroded the attraction of entry at this time? Grateful for the narrative as you see it. Thanks.
I'm still bid only. Not offering. Can't get £50k. Sales going through as some smaller sellers come out with this uptick. This feels squeezy to the upside.
Interesting thanks, please keep us updated.
I'm now on the bid
I've been offering 300,000 shares at 64.2 for weeks.
Pulled it this morning when market was 63-64, then it went to 64-65.
There's not much on the offered side right now. Can't get £50k's worth.

No intention of selling this beast!
So £150k of the trades showing as sells are actually buys. and my target for july is 65p as per master investor article
It would be crazy to sell any before the results as even if it pulls back a bit the results + a dividend would just drive the sp back up and further. jmho but i believe this stock is still under valued.
60p paid this morning, another year high. Wondering how high we can go.

Just put my order in to sell 300,000 above the market..will see what happens. There is very little volume either side.
Some really big buys here today, great to see.
Last post: darientaylor, 13 May 2024 13:36
Wow, here we go
Something is up here, someone building a position, could be a takeover in the works
Massive buy, hadn't noticed that. All very promising.
A £500k buy will do that I suppose!! thats an interesting buy
Moving up still.

Certainly progressing very well. Hitting year high on a daily basis almost.
Another 20k showing at a sell today.. and moving up
Building up for a nice set of results in July if divi re-instated 75p ?

All those unknown trades are buys, 300k of them.
Great to be holding above 50p. On to 55p+ next few weeks I think.
Staying above 50p good sign
Sea of blue!
What an impressive RNS!
After strong trading update followed by a big contract win, onwards and upwards

Loads of big buys showing at sells
I dont think its profit taking I think its more of a forced sale as the asset manager has too keep only a certain amount of each share in the portfolio, so with MTL rising so much they were probably too heavily invested so have sold to rebalance the portfolio. nothing sinister, so now its done the buys are going to move us up.
My thoughts exactly, simply a bit of profit taking which is never a bad thing. Hit year high again today. I'm feeling very positive that the rise will continue. Any ideas as to where the ceiling lies?
Lol supposed to say 100,000 lumps
They are the ones that have been selling in 100,000 Lou pjs over the last week.
Just top slicing nothing serious only to be expected after the recent rise.

Still some decent buys despite the year high. Great to see. Soon be May and then on to the results in July. Hopefully news of acquisitions and dividend.

Most of those wells are buys
My kids pocket money
What about all the sells of 5 shares?
All those auto buys at 46.5 are a great sign, they are set by traders who use charts to trade so that is a sign that at 46.5 p its about to break out of a trading range upwards. I'm pretty happy with that
Lots of strange automatic trades this afternoon. Plenty of buys so not concerned.

Hopefully keep the momentum going. Looks primed for 50p by the end of the week.
Strong buying this AM
Incredibly strong performance in such markets. Hats off.
65p this year seems both reasonable and achievable. Perhaps your buy was merged into one of the larger trades? Good luck, I reckon you're onto a winner here.

Cavendish Capital Markets have a new price target of 65p for this year based on the latest trading statement thats a 45% premium from here.
I have just read the master investor report too, not heard of them before. Certainly makes pleasant reading and they mention potential of dividend for this year, even if only 0.4p. Only 3 months until we find out and in the meantime the sp is steadily rising.
My£23k still isnt showing
Just read that master investor report having never been on the site before had to smile 😊 to myself as they are saying exactly what I have been telling people for ages.
This is a no brainer in my opinion.
Wonder why my two purchases arent showing £23k and 7K

Good performance today in a falling market. Just need a bit of coverage in the financial press and we should be knocking on the door of 50p.

Agreed that's doable. Would cost around £2m for the full year. The company is making steady progress, long-term looks encouraging.
1p on the full results and most likely a further 0.5p at the half year results.
i am also expecting to see more aquisitions made this year.
jmho dyor.
That would be nice. Any idea on the amount?
Will come when full year results are announced.
jmho .

I think the market got a sniff of the update last Friday afternoon so has responded! Having said that the volume today is good. I think we will see 50p by the end of the month.
A great update indeed....a bit surprised the market hasnt responded so far
Great update. 50p incoming.

Thanks, Steve. I added 410 shares today. Backing British!
Ps. they put one of these out last year on the 14th april.
Think they will put out a prelimary statement this month.
which is subject to auditors full year accounts but will give us a good indication off expected results.
Interest rates coming down should provide a boost. Next scheduled update is July for final results. Nice and steady progress we hope.

Certainly hope so. Nice to back a British company going places.
You are doing the right thing.
full year trading ends on last day of march and prelimary results statement will be announced in mid - april which will confirm that results are ahead of market expectations.
i expect a full year dividend to be announced in the full year results for the first time in many years this will drive the S.P to 50p plus. this will enable the company to raise further funding for aquisitions and further growth.
exciting times in my humble opinion.
Topped up today. I'm drip feeding in £150 per month plus extra when funds allow.
Unusually big fall so far this week. I have funds ready but will wait for the decline to reverse.
Looks like you have another chance today - wondering to top up again but I already have a larger than normal investment here. I am very tempted...

If it stays like this I'll top up tomorrow as my pension lump sum is due.
I've topped up - think the price will recover later
This is the trouble with the aim market.
