I agree. This is not another Tesco. A massive overreaction. Management have taken appropriate action and this is the time to follow Warren Buffett’s wise words: Be greedy when other are fearful. Last but not least: Hedgies at play yesterday. Good on them. But they have now cashed in and that’s it.

Chesnara is a safe bet. Despite the fundraising and recent acquisition, it remains a relative toddler. Before long, it will be taken over. Phoenix the obvious predator. In the meantime, collect handsome divis. A no-brainer.

D’accord. CNC doing just fine and I like their conservative messaging. Could well turn out the future NVDIA of the sector. The danger is the very small market cap making it vulnerable to takeover. But so far the big boys haven’t registered…

Today a combo of profit taking and not upping guidance. 10% down, despite record revenues and bright outlook. Fairly minor correction in the tech sector and a great day to buy.

No point in getting stressed over the rights issue. Take up or sell, depending on your circumstances. Chesnara will be taken over before long. In the meantime, divis will cheer you up.

So will I. Chesnara is an exceptionally well managed company. Strengthening the balance sheet makes complete sense. Most importantly, it’s an attractive takeover target. It’s not a question of if, but only when.

The company’s ROCE compares favourably with competitors but the debt level is high. Capitalised at a mere £1 billion an attractive takeover target. The vultures must be circling.

Nat Rothschild will be watching developments with great interest. Volex and Renold would be a perfect fit.
