Why has it gone up to 84.60

I'm out - end of a 3 year journey!

Annoyed to have left some money on the table as bid is now 84+ but the irrevocable director undertakings make today's bid hard to undo.

Given the size of my holding, I need to take that P&L.

The board seems to back the current offer strongly, and while the SP action suggests some expectation of further bids, any counteroffer would need to be meaningfully higher to change the board’s stance. What time frame are we looking at here, until shareholder and court approval is obtained, or up to completion in Q4? What are the chances the SP reaches the forecasted median of 88p? Or is the forecasted price not relevant here?

RNS announcement at 7:47 am today, two working days before the put-up-or-shut-up deadline. RNO's board have recommended a cash offer of 82p per share from Webster.

Moments ago RNO spread was 82.2 to 82.8, and the most recent trade was at 82.0 which is up 6p / 7.9%. Usually at this stage of a bid process the price would be about 4% less than the level of the bid so it looks like the market is pricing in the possibility of a counter-bid from the other predator.

At this time yesterday it was possible to buy at about 72p. This news was obviously leaked yesterday afternoon and led to the price surge to about 77p. Despite that surge, from about 4 pm I was seriously thinking of buying before the market closed yesterday. I'm really annoyed with myself for not buying yesterday!! A lost opportunity for making a very easy profit. Congratulations to any of you who bought RNO recently. You'd have made about 12% in about three weeks.
